This is a loaded 2026 quarterback class and he is one of the more productive passers of the bunch. He shows he can get the ball out quickly and move through his progressions, navigate the pocket and feel pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. Avella also puts good touch on his intermediate throws, throwing his receivers open and shows he can fit the ball into tight windows across the middle of the field. He is a very instinctual player that can trigger quickly, knife into the backfield from various angles and brings a good thump at the POA. He shows he can run sideline to sideline with closing speed, takes good angles in the open field and is a high motor kid that moves well through bigger blockers and plays with violent hands and a has a natural feel for the game. He is a very powerful defensive tackle that wins with a good initial strike and lockout and does a good job at using his leverage to get underneath blockers and reset the line of scrimmage. Powers also shows he can violently get off blocks, eat double teams and has quick block recognition in the run game while very stout against the inside run. He is extremely athletic, has good twitch off the ball but has the frame to pack on weight and potentially grow into a snappy 3-tech at the next level with growth potential. He is strong at the POA, has a quick first step get off and shows a violent punch, shed and is a high motor kid that knows how to set the edge and pursue properly backside. He shows disciplined eyes in zone coverage, has fluid hips downfield in transition and is a big time hitter in the box when coming downhill. Joyce shows closing speed when breaking towards the ball or making tackles out in space and is a very balanced safety that is a no brainer next level kid.
