Summers is a high floor college prospect at the inside linebacker position and flyes around making plays both inside and outside of the tackles. He is a downhill thumper that can quickly get off blocks and work his way into the backfield when applying pressure to make plays behind the line and is extremely physical at the point of attack. He is a high IQ player that sniffs out screens/draws and excels in the run game. In coverage, he has fluid hips in transition to cover bigger backs and receivers downfield and has good eye discipline in zone coverage, baiting quarterbacks into poor throws over the middle. He should draw plenty of D3/NAIA+ interest and will be one of the top returning defenders across Idaho in 2025.
Summers checks into our rankings as the number three linebacker in the state, and is one of the hardest hitters across the region coming off a stellar Junior season. He is a very instinctual player that can trigger quickly, knife into the backfield from various angles and brings a good thump at the POA. He shows he can run sideline to sideline with closing speed, takes good angles in the open field and is a high motor kid that moves well through bigger blockers and plays with violent hands and a has a natural feel for the game. Although a bit undersized for the position, he is a no brainer second level guy at the next level and should draw plenty of college opportunities through his Senior season.
Summers is one of the best off the ball linebackers in the state with his ability to run and make plays. He shows great instincts and ability to read then react to what he sees. He is a true 3 down linebacker that can cover, rush the passer and play the run. He is going to have to be big against Rigby and their potent run game this Friday.
Summers is one of the top linebackers in his class across Idaho, and is a true plug in the middle of the defense that makes plays in-between the tackles and does a good job of filling gaps inside and knifing into the backfield with a few pass rush moves at his disposal. Summers is a very physical tackler that brings a nice thump at the POA, flows well to the ball backside and can redirect and trigger quickly while seemingly always around the ball. He is a true plug and run mike backer that should be atop the state tackle rankings as we move through the season this Fall.
Summers does a little bit of everything from his linebacker position. Finishing the season with 69 tackles he was also able to impact the game from a rush standpoint. He is player who can really time up his blitz and get to the quarterback. He runs really well and has an excellent feel for when to shoot gaps or when to take on a block while holding his ground. A player that has some ability in the pass game as well and should only get better as time progresses. He is a prospect to keep an eye on and will be a watch list player for us before getting ranked when its all said and done.
