I first had a chance to look at Caden when studying the Erwin matchup against eventual state champion West Charlotte in the 3rd round of the 3A State Playoffs. Caden led Erwin to a number 1 seed in the West Region, which is an incredible feat given the number of impressive teams in that classification this past season. Caden put up a strong season statistically which put him on our radar. Caden finished the season with 2966 yards passing and 35 touchdowns to only 8 interceptions. Caden also rushed for 9 touchdowns on top of that. He is definitely going to be one of the top quarterbacks in the next two years in Western North Carolina.

I first saw Keenan in a preseason jamboree, and he was playing because Porter Ridge's starting quarterback suffered a preseason injury. Keenan operated with impressive poise, timing, and accuracy on his throws against a tough North Mecklenburg defense which featured [player_tooltip player_id='719690' first='Charles' last='House'], a Tennessee commit, on the defensive line. When Porter Ridge coaches told me he was a sophomore, I was absolutely blown away. In some limited Varsity duty, Keenan threw for 5 touchdowns and rushed for another. By all accounts, he is a good kid, and he will wait his turn, but he has an opportunity to open some more eyes this offseason.

Multiple people at Jay M Robinson absolutely rave about this young man and his future, so I started watching him in pregame warmups during the playoffs while covering their games. Aury does look very fundamentally sound, and his throws have a distinctive touch I've only seen from one other quarterback in this class - [player_tooltip player_id='915835' first='Jared' last='Street']. The ball pops coming off of his hands, and in watching some film, he has the right anticipation and presence at the position. In limited Varsity action this season, Aury threw 5 touchdown passes and rushed for 3 more. We will be talking about him a good bit over the next two years.

I watched Adam live this season, and the biggest thing I would say about him is that he's a gutsy player. Playing for a team that had a rough season and didn't have much of a running game, teams keyed in on making life difficult for Adam as a sophomore varsity started, but he was able to still show some production and good traits. Adam threw for 737 yards in 8 games and had 7 touchdown passes, along with rushing for another touchdown. Adam, when given time, can make some plays from the pocket, throwing with good accuracy on a variety of routes. Adam, in the game I saw him live, he can get into a rhythm when given time to make some plays and have some good stretches of quarterback play.

Being the backup quarterback at one of the state's best programs isn't a bad setup, and Cole showed some good things when he was able to get on the field for the Chargers. Cole ended up throwing 5 touchdowns to no interceptions in the limited Varsity action he saw last season. Looking at the highlight film, Cole can make accurate throws from the pocket or on designed rollouts with good accuracy and timing. Cole is not afraid to hang in the pocket and take a hit to make a big throw downfield either. We have him on the Wait List to see what else he can do when given the opportunity this upcoming season.
