Athletes I'm Excited to Watch at the PRZ WI Showcase

The Winter Showcase is almost here for Prep Redzone WI. We will be back in Oak Creek, WI on Sunday December 1 once again and ready to provide coverage for what is sure to be a highly competitive environment. I love these showcases because we are able to get up to date numbers of measurements and athletic testing. We also get to see these kids go up against each other and show what they can do in scenarios that maybe they don't have a lot of tape on. I also love these chances to get to meet and talk with the student athletes that attend the event. Heading into every event there are always a few kids that will jump out when looking through the list of attendees for all sorts of reasons. Today we are going to go through the list of attendees and breakdown why some athletes stood out to me and what I'm excited to see from them on Sunday.     The young sophomore OT has a big frame that looks the part of a future D1 commit. At the showcase I'm looking forward to getting an up to date look at the 2027's development during this past season. I want to see how well he moves in drills, flexibility, his official measurements, and also get to watch him in some live action 1 on 1 battles vs a strong stable of defensive line prospects. This should be a great stage for Peyton to make some noise on.     Another massive OL recruit that I am very excited to get a look at is [player_tooltip player_id='1359903' first='Maxx' last='Wittmer']. He has made some impressive strides in his game and we will se him climbing the ranks this offseason. On tape the big man is well-known for his overwhelming strength. At the showcase I will be interested to see more of his mobility and agility during OL drills and the 1 on 1 pass protection/pass rush battles. This is a great chance for the rising junior to show how well rounded his game is.     Hawk has been a productive, and impactful DE/OLB for Kettle Moraine, so I'm very excited to see him up close on Sunday. I'm excited to get some updated measurements and times for his athletic testing, but most importantly I'm excited to see what he can show in the drill work and 1 on 1s. I want to see how explosive he is off the ball, is he able to bend and change levels while rushing. The tape shows a talented kid. I'm ready to see it live.     The freshman WR out of Franklin HS was able to carve out an early role on varsity. So getting him to this showcase is awesome. We can get an early look at what led to that freshman success. From measurements and testing to watching how naturally he tracks and catches the ball, plus watching him go up against talented, older DBs will be a great litmus test for him. Big things are ahead for this WR. I'm glad we get to sing his praises early in the offseason.     I'm excited to shine the spotlight on Paxton this Sunday. The senior had an outstanding season as he led his team to a near state berth. While doing so, Paxton also was one of the top rushers in the state. The senior is uncommitted and looking for his next home, so I'm expecting to see him come out and put on a show to prove he belongs at the next level. I want to see his testing numbers and also watch how he moves in drills as well as how he does as a receiver out of the backfield vs LBs. Paxton is a name that teams will hear about and want to look into. So get a head start.     I have heard great things about the starting QB for Whitnall HS. So on Sunday I will be very dialed in on his performance in Session II. From his initial measurements during check in, to seeing how well he tests athletically, and then watching him work in QB drills. Tanner seems like a very natural, strong thrower of the football. Watching the ball come out of the hand in person is so huge in scouting and projecting QBs, so I'm excited to watch Tanner work on Sunday.     Austin looks like the next big play, mismatch athlete coming out of Regis. They seem to have a factory up there, and the showcase on Sunday is going to give Austin a stage to prove it. I'm excited to see him lock in some dominant, explosive numbers. I'm also very interested to see if he signed up as a DB or offensive skill player because the tape shows a difference maker at both, but I'm hoping for DB. Then we can see him in coverage along with watching him go through drills and pick up on coaching. I'm excited to see Rideout in action.     Cayden has been one of the most impressively productive defenders in WI as a sophomore. He spent all fall roaming the field and pile up double digit tackles on a weekly basis. It is clear he has excellent instincts, and now on Sunday I want to see what he is working with currently. What is his 40 time, what are his agility and explosive testing numbers? I also want to see how he handles the more finesse part of the job, like dropping into coverage and being more reactive than on the attack. I have very high hopes of the 2027.     There is so much I'm excited to see when it comes to Jensen. First, it is getting an updated 40 time from the State Champion track & field sprinter. I also am excited to see if he signed up as a RB, QB, or DB because he dominated at all those spots on the field. I also want to see how well he is able to either create space with sudden agility or be able to react to sudden changes of direction and stay tight on his man. Rice is one of the top athletes in the state, so we should be able to expect big things from him on Sunday.     While the junior is definitely undersized for the DL, you can't argue with what he did on the field and how he did it. Harrison has explosive power that he is able to create with his game-wrecking first step. He has spent the season flying through gaps untouched because he is so quick. Harrison also seems to have strong hands when he does have to shed or create space. So I will be very interested in his 1 on 1 showings where being able to win with speed is a good way to stand out.
