I love every chance we get to see the small school stud out of Spring Valley. The junior has a fantastic frame at 6’3″ 287 lbs with an elite 6’8″ wingspan. Maxx is already built like a collegiate lineman. He also plays with the mentality of a college OL. The dude is looking to bully his opponents. Whether that be on Friday nights or at camps. He brings the same aggression to every scenario and he also brings next level power. It was a quick win for Maxx any time that an opponent tried to beat him with power. His ability to shut down that bull rush with his strong lower body and the punch he has in his hands. I talked about how I would love to see him at guard at a D2 level or even higher because I believe he has the size, power, and mentality to be a force in that scenario. I’m excited to keep watching Maxx over the coming year.

One of the more dedicated athletes I have covered in this Class is Spring Valley’s

. The junior is always working on his game and trying to learn the best way to go about things. That has me excited for this summer and fall because as a junior the tape was already grabbing my attention. There is so much potential to tap into when you watch him on tape. You see the raw power to wash a DL down the line of scrimmage away from the gap. You also see him drive opponents off the line, even when he doesn’t win the leverage battle. The power in his lower body was able to cover up some of those moments. As he continues to develop that technique we are going to see him devastate opponents even quicker and easier than in 2024. A big summer is on the horizon for Wittmer. Get him on your radars if he isn’t there already.

If I had a offensive linemen MVP to dish out on Saturday, my vote would have gone in for Spring Valley (WI) target Maxx Whitmer. The 6’4 280 pounder for the Cardinals, was impressive for that size with his footwork across every rep I got to watch as the fluidity with his athletic movement was well-polished in my eyes. Maxx easily had one of the most physical punches and excellent pad-levels within this group of offensive linemen. I can surely tell that since his junior season, Maxx has relished the benefits of off-season reps with LOS, winter showcases, etc. as it’s evident in his play that this young man is one that can develop his skillsets in a quick span of time.

Another need to know OL talent coming out of one of the state’s small schools is
Maxx Wittmer

. Maxx is a quick and violent OL coming out of his stance in the run game. Throughout his highlights you will see him be able to wash the DL down the trenches away from the gap with his power. Maxx’s athleticism stands out among other varsity athletes on tape, quickly getting up to level two, running defenders off the line, and always finishing with violence. The tools are coming together very well for the rising OL. Size, power, athleticism, and the nasty mentality to finish blocks are all traits needed for the next level. Keep a close eye on this kid this summer.

We are currently working on updating the Class of 2026 rankings. Maxx is an athlete that you can expect to see make a significant jump. It is looking like he will be a Top 100 player at least. The 6’4″ 280 lbs OL made a great impression at the PRZ WI Winter Showcase in December. He was able to show next level balance and reactive athleticism in pass protection. It was great to see the natural gifts in pass protection because the film is loaded with run blocking reps. Not surprising for a team that lived off the ground game. That is why Wittmer is included in this article. He helped clear the way for 2,300+ rushing yards and 35 rushing TDs in just 12 games. In the run game, Wittmer is a mauler who can drive his man off the ball and remove him from the designed gap.
Maxx also makes this list of athletes because he needs to see an increase in recruitment. The 6’4″ 280 lbs junior is currently looking to get on campus for some Junior Day visits so he can build those relationships with coaches. Get your eyes on this kid and get him on campus to meet him and also see that his size is legit. Big time sleeper prospect here.

Maxx was an athlete I couldn’t wait to see in person. The junior out of northern WI delivered on my high expectations. He checked in at 6’4″ 275 lbs with a 6’9″ wingspan and 10″ hands. All those numbers fit the look of a high level OL. In the testing portion the big man had a sub 5.00 shuttle time proving that he can move that mass with ease and efficiency. In the season, Spring Valley ran the ball a lot, so I was excited to see how Maxx handled pass protection. The kid was a natural, steering his edge rusher with his big strong hands, and doing a great job of getting good depth vs speed but not getting caught out of position or reaching. He was patient with his strikes and those strikes were strong when they landed, usually putting his opponent on the ground. Maxx has such a high ceiling from where he is currently at. Big things are ahead for him. Don’t miss out on this kid.

Another massive OL recruit that I am very excited to get a look at is

. He has made some impressive strides in his game and we will se him climbing the ranks this offseason. On tape the big man is well-known for his overwhelming strength. At the showcase I will be interested to see more of his mobility and agility during OL drills and the 1 on 1 pass protection/pass rush battles. This is a great chance for the rising junior to show how well rounded his game is.

Unfortunately, we saw the Spring Valley season come to an end in Level 3. However, their junior left tackle Max Wittmer put out impressive film that is going to have on the rise this offseason. Maxx has a prototypical frame at 6’4″ 275 lbs that is loaded with power. Power that allows him to drive DL off the ball in the run game. Power that shows up in his hands too as he is able to control where his man goes once he locks onto them. The junior has the mentality needed in the trenches too. He looks to dominate his opponent and usually finds ways to get them on the ground. I’m impressed by Maxx’s athleticism too. The OL plays with an explosive burst out of his stance in the run game that instantly creates power on contact. Maxx has a great understanding of how to position his body while engaged so that he is always between the defender and the ball too. I’m very excited for this next year ahead of Maxx. Coaches, get eyes on this kid.
