. The 6’3″ 180 lbs athlete makes an impact on the ground, as a receiving threat, and as a safety on defense. The kid doesn’t leave the field. The small school standout is a big time athlete. Watching through the highlights you see the superior speed and vision that allow him to knife through a defense on his way to big plays. The long striding athlete does well in tight quarters by shortening those strides but still maintaining his ability to burst to top speed. That speed also helps him be a rangy safety that you can put on the back end by himself and let him go sideline to sideline. Austin is a reliable one on one tackler too. Plus he does well finding the ball and diagnosing plays so he can put himself in the correct position to make a play.

Austin provides Regis with another offensive mismatch to utilize. It seems like every year they have at least one and this time it is the 6’3″ 180 lbs WR/DB/RB. Austin is at his best when he can use his speed to attack the edge and beat any pursuit angles down the sideline. When a defender does have solid position on him, Austin flashes the tackling breaking power and balance to create those highlight reel runs. At DB Austin brings that same physicality in his run support and tackling. Rideout is a playmaker. A kid that finds a way to make the big play, and has a great chance of creating one on every touch. Don’t miss out on this kid.

Austin has the talent and versatility to be recruited on either side of the ball. He came to the Showcase as a WR and he certainly looked like he could play there at the next level. 6’3.5″ frame with a 6’5.5″ wingspan. Plus he has just over 9.5″ hands that pluck the ball out of the air. His 9’2″ broad jump and 739 L-Drill also show him short area burst, balance, and agility. Austin did a great job of playing fast, but under control so that he could open up separation for his QB to target in 1 on 1 battles. It was awesome to see Austin in a pass catching role. He looked comfortable out wide.

Austin looks like the next big play, mismatch athlete coming out of Regis. They seem to have a factory up there, and the showcase on Sunday is going to give Austin a stage to prove it. I’m excited to see him lock in some dominant, explosive numbers. I’m also very interested to see if he signed up as a DB or offensive skill player because the tape shows a difference maker at both, but I’m hoping for DB. Then we can see him in coverage along with watching him go through drills and pick up on coaching. I’m excited to see Rideout in action.

has waited his turn behind some impressive athletes at Regis HS, and this season he has finally gotten his chance to have a big role on varsity. It has paid big time dividends as he is second on the team in carries, yards, and rushing TDs. The electric athlete also leads the team with an outrageous 11.6 yds/carry average. Every time Austin touches the ball the odds are that fireworks are about to happen. The 6’3″ 180 lbs junior has game breaking speed to stretch the defense horizontally and beat pursuit angles deep down the field. He plays with vision that perfectly fits the way they use him on sweeps to the outside, giving him the chance to read blocks, find a seam of daylight, and explode through for the big play. The big play threat can also gain the tough yards by breaking tackles out in space and at the second level vs LBs. Austin is a legitimate playmaker that can change a game on any carry.

Stats: 3 Carries, 100 Yards, 2 TDs
This has to be the fewest carries I have seen from a 100 yard rushing performance. Austin and the Regis offense dominated in Week 4. The junior was used on sweeps from the wing position where he was able to get stretch the defense horizontally before shredding it vertically with game breaking speed. Rideout did a great job finding the seam and getting up field. He also showed good balance to run through tackle attempts out in space. Check out the junior playmaker.
