. The 5’10” 170 lbs athlete is a very accomplished track and field athlete, so there is no question the speed is there. You can also just turn on the Hudl highlights and watch him erase pursuit angles and play at an entirely different speed than the rest of the field. Rice attacks the defense like he is on Rookie Mode at times, knifing through the second level and secondary on his way to massive runs and huge wins for his team. Even if you somehow contain him Jensen is plenty serviceable as a passer and can hurt a defense with his outstanding receiving talent on his team.

. The small school athlete has been blessed with and developed elite athletic tools. He literally checks every box. His speed is a mismatch, especially in the open field where he can hit that second gear. The junior has the body control and quick feet to play with outstanding short area agility and burst. He can make you miss in a phone booth and create space in tight quarters that he uses to create big plays out of nothing. His instincts on top of the athletic prowess boost the impact of those tools even further. Rice has the talent to play either side of the ball at the next level, and has recently earned his first D1 offer from Army. Tap into the highlights of the best player from this central WI region.

Next up is one of the most electric athletes in the state. When Jensen was done dominating on the football field as a sophomore he spent his spring winning the 100M Dash State Championship for small schools. Then he came back this past fall and blew us away even more. Jensen plays QB for Iola-Scandinavia but don’t let that fool you. The 5’10” 170 lbs athlete dominates with his legs. He has the game-breaking speed all day long, but it is so dangerous because of his instincts and vision with the ball. He sets things up, sees the path open up instantly as it does, and has the short area burst and agility to fly through gaps and make defenders miss. That athleticism and reactive quickness also makes him an excellent DB. Jensen has the talent to play anywhere from DB to WR to even change of pace RB if needed. The kid is electric and a dominant small-school product.

One of the best overall performances from the Showcase was what junior ATH/WR Jensen Rice did. The 5’9″ 170 lbs athlete was easily one of the most explosive athletes in attendance. He hit back to back 37.6″ vertical jumps. Jensen also ran an elite 4.53 40 yard dash, broad jumped 10’2″, and ran a 7.13 L-Drill. Those elite numbers were just the tip of the iceberg for his day.
It is hard to believe it, but this day was Jensen’s first time doing WR reps. He could have fooled me because the junior is such an explosive athlete with outstanding body control that he is able to step right in and do difficult things with ease. His route running was so sudden along with his release off the line. It was easy for him to get deep and track the ball. Plus he has natural ball skills and soft hands. The 5’9″ 170 lbs junior has a surprisingly large catch radius too thanks to his 10.5″ hands and 6’2″ wingspan. Big things area ahead for this impressive athlete.

There is so much I’m excited to see when it comes to Jensen. First, it is getting an updated 40 time from the State Champion track & field sprinter. I also am excited to see if he signed up as a RB, QB, or DB because he dominated at all those spots on the field. I also want to see how well he is able to either create space with sudden agility or be able to react to sudden changes of direction and stay tight on his man. Rice is one of the top athletes in the state, so we should be able to expect big things from him on Sunday.

The Iola- Scandinavia QB/DB is a walking highlight reel, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The junior averaged an insane 12 yards per carry in Week 5, showing that elite playmaker ability where he makes the unbelievable play look easy. His far superior speed and agility make him a nightmare to contain once he gets into any bit of space. His instincts with the ball and vision make him even more dangerous as he finds blocks and picks through the traffic until he can hit that second gear in the open field. The natural athlete is also able to deliver through the air. Check out the weekly highlights from the stud junior.

of Iola- Scandinavia. Jensen is a state champion track athlete and coming off a dominant camp season where he put up elite testing numbers. Now the season is underway and he is carrying that all into the season with a great Week 1 performance and win. As a passer, Jensen is one of those natural athletes that seem excel in most areas. One of those areas is being able to deliver accurate passes to his outside weapons. Where his future is at is what he does on the ground. Jensen has exceptional burst, short area agility, and instincts with the ball in his hands. He so quickly picks through traffic until he finds daylight then he hits his second gear and is gone. Having a playmaker like this at QB is such an advantage at the HS level. The dual threat and two way player is going to put up dominant numbers this fall.

. After winning the D3 100M and 110H this past spring, PRing with an eye-popping 10.66 in the 100M and 14.60 in the 110M hurdles, along with a 40.21 300M hurdle time as well, Rice has earned personalized recruiting graphics and/or camp invites from Wisconsin, Minnesota Gophers safeties coach Danny Collins, and North Dakota State’s assistant coach Nick Goeser. No doubt Rice is one of the fastest football prospects in the Great State of Wisconsin, and that’s caught the attention of some of the premier programs in the region.
Posting an explosive 927 rushing yards and 15 TDs on the ground, as well as 554 passing yards and 7 TDs, the combination of Rice’s pure speed, explosiveness, and athleticism were simply too much for defenses last fall, and he’s only gotten faster, more explosive, and more athletic since then. A three-phase contributor and multi-sport standout, Rice explodes up the field when he shows off that initial burst, and he can cut at top speed and does a good job of utilizing the sideline and every available inch of the field to his advantage. Rice uses his speed and athleticism to extend plays and create splash gains with both his arm and his legs and he’s frankly electric in the open field and with the ball in-hand. The vision, balance, change of direction ability, and general elusiveness, which display Rice as a comfortable and natural playmaker, made for some electric plays and TD runs in the open field. At the high school level, it’s not a bad idea to put your best athlete at the QB position, and Rice is a great representation of that trend. Not only is he one of the best athletes on Iola-Scandinavia’s roster, he looks and plays like one of the best in Wisconsin. No wonder D1s are already poking around the rising junior and his rare resume as a track & football prospect.

. The sophomore out of Iola- Scandinavia put up elite 4.47 and 4.42 in the 40 yard dash. He broad jumped 9’11” and 9’5″. He also ran a great 4.34 shuttle, and 7.56 L Drill. The 5’10” 165 lbs sophomore brings elite athleticism to the field.
On the field, Rice caught my eyes on several 1 on 1 reps vs WRs. He could easily flip his hips and run deep with WRs. On more intense route breaks Jensen was able to either stay right with his man or quickly recover with his acceleration and closing speed if separation was opened up. Rice was also aggressive at the catch with well timed and placed hands to break up the pass. The underclassman did a great job of putting himself on the radar from the start of the session. Coaches, make sure to be well aware of this kid over the coming years.
