Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
The top talent in our state is next up. The Badgers commit checks a lot of boxes. Size, strength with room to fill out, smooth athleticism as a route runner, and the aggressive ball skills to ensure he is coming down with the football. Korz is impressive after the catch too where he can win with physical running or by making you miss one on one. If Korz can create space he has proven he can accelerate and get past DBs. This is the state’s biggest mismatch.

. The small school star possesses Power 4 talent that landed him among the best in the entire country. An elite frame, natural and fluid athleticism, elite ball skills, and the versatility to line up out wide or inline at the traditional TE position. The playmaker is such a mismatch, using both speed and size/power to win battles downfield. Plus he isn’t afraid to get involved as a blocker. The 2027 was injured early in 2025, so I’m very excited to see him finally back on the field this fall and put on a show.

The new #1 overall player in the Class of 2027 is back for what could be a dominant junior season. The two way athlete is an elite TE talent. Size, speed, and physical running after the catch make him very tough to contain. Especially playing at the small school level. Korz is an extremely reliable target and a kid that is great at creating plays. I’m locked and loaded for a big year to come from Loken.

Korz is one of the state’s premier talents, and one of the nation’s best TEs. He is coming off a sophomore season where he was able to reel in 28 receptions for 425 yards, and 9 TDs. Korz is an elite athlete for the TE position who can win with speed and quickness as well as punish defenders trying to wrap him up. The ’27 also has built an unreal frame with length, leaping ability to go up and get it, and strong hands to secure passes anywhere within his catch radius. Any time Loken touches the ball is a legitimate chance for a big play.

There were several options for this category, but the sophomore TE

ended up being the choice. The 2027 is outstanding at finding the ball and finding ways to get his hands on it. Hands that are big, soft, and strong so that if he can get his hands on it then he is probably going to catch it. Because of that, Korz offers a huge catch radius. Loken also earned this category because of his ability to make the toe-tapping sideline grab or the twisting grab while having a DB draped all over him. The concentration and body control at his age are elite and one of the reasons he already has FBS offers. We need our Perfect TE to attack the ball and bring it in like Korz.

Stats: 6 Receptions, 60 Yards, 2 TDs, 5 Tackles, 1 PBU
The elite TE recruit has clearly made strides in his game. The 6’5″ 215 lbs sophomore plays with excellent body control and balance opening up the chance to run clean routes, make catches along the sideline, and be a tough tackle after the catch. Loken’s speed for the position jumped off the tape too as he has multiple examples of his running by CBs in Week 1. Plus the hands are looking very natural as he easily plucks the ball out of the air. Korz is continuing his development towards being an elite mismatch. The stud recruit also put out impressive film at OLB, setting a strong edge, chasing down plays from behind, and getting into the backfield to make TFLs.

Wouldn’t be a Midwest special highlighting TE standouts without Wisconsin involved, and the Badger State is already repping a good one with Iola-Scandinavia 6’5, 210 lber. Korz Loken. Yet another PrepRedzone showcase standout who we had on our radar early, Loken went 9’6 in the broad jump and 4.5 on the shuttle at our spring showcase, which I’m assuming also showed up in his performance at the Iowa State prospect camp, wherein he earned offer #1 when the Cyclones reached out after camp. Central Michigan has also offered this summer.
Loken can easily dunk on the hardwood already, and is an impressive multi-sport athlete and basketball player who excels in whatever sport you throw him into. A First Team All-Conference selection at TE and OLB who caught 370 yards worth of receptions at a 17.6 YPC average for 5 TDs, Loken was commended by Head Wisconsin Scout Mark Johnson for his ability and effectiveness as a route runner and pass catching threat in 1v1s at our spring showcase. The frame jumps off the tape first. Loken is tall, long, and lean, and he’s got the chance to fill into imposing proportions and already knows how to use his size to his advantage in pass catching situations. The 6’5 TE can win catches through contact, shows burst after the catch, and lined up all over the field and was productive as a pass catcher in a variety of situations last fall. Loken can generate some power when he plants his foot in the group, which shows up both at the top of the route and after the catch, possesses a mean stiff-arm, and does a good job of stacking DBs after he gets a step on them and tracks the ball well in the air. Still a lot of developing and refining to do, but the raw athleticism and pass catching skill set are more than present and have laid a foundation to be an uber-productive and dynamic target in the passing game these next three years.

The #1 freshman TE in WI has become a regular at our combines/showcases, and every time he shows up he reaffirms that ranking. Korz measured in just over 6’4″ 202 lbs. He ran 4.97 in the 40, broad jumped 9’6″ and ran a 4.5 shuttle. They were numbers that perfectly highlight his talent on the field.
Looking at him on the field and in the one on one battles, Korz is already a mismatch for defenders. He has a long frame with hands that can secure the catch, providing a huge catch radius. His long strides eat up ground, and he is surprisingly explosive in short areas. He already has the body control to run effective routes too. Korz is already a varsity impact player. Big things ahead for the freshman.
