ADAIR 35, KANSAS 21

Week six would begin the gauntlet run for this district in Class 2A-2. Three of the top six teams in this class were all in the same district and Adair and Kansas were two of them. They squared off Friday night and the winner would take a slight lead in the district standings, knowing there was more work to do. The Warriors prevailed in this one 35-21. Adair would put Kansas in a 15-0 hole early on and they never trailed. Kansas would make several rally attempts but it felt like the Warriors were in control of this game throughout. Now, both teams shift gears and look ahead as they still have battles with another top five team in Colcord ahead.

APACHE 34, THOMAS 33

The first of several upsets that we didn't see coming took place in Class A-2. Apache is a team that we had some high expectations for coming into the season but some unpredictable losses dropped them out of the top ten. They could be on their way back after handing Thomas their first loss on the season with a 34-33 win. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='998365' first='Houston' last='Herrin'] had a monster game on the ground and through the air as the Warriors got their biggest win of the season. That could start Apache's run within this district and then in Class A-2 overall. Apache jumped out to an early lead and would have to hold off a Thomas rally to win this game by a point.

COLLINSVILLE 35, TAHLEQUAH 21

When Collinsville is at full strength, they are one of the better teams in Class 5A. And the Cardinals are slowly but surely getting back to full strength and behind their starters, they beat Tahlequah 35-21. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='402384' first='Skyler' last='Moorman'] returned to the lineup after missing several games and junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1018641' first='Scott' last='Rigby'] is back to full strength and was an absolute workhorse. Rigby carried the ball over 40 times and accounted for all five Collinsville touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='598831' first='Dylan' last='Dugger'] had a key kick return to open the second half to help spark the runaway win. Tahlequah led 14-7 at halftime but it was all Collinsville in the second half.

DEER CREEK 30, MOORE 20

Deer Creek knocked off Moore 30-20 as the Antlers remain unbeaten and the Lions have dropped their second straight. This was a close game at halftime with Deer Creek leading 17-14. Senior quarterback and Georgia Tech commit [player_tooltip player_id='242231' first='Grady' last='Adamson'] led a second half charge that put this game out of reach in the third and fourth quarters. The Antlers continue to dominate on the ground and through the air with a balanced offense. Now, the Antlers shift their focus to the toughest game on the schedule to date. On Thursday night, they travel to the Tulsa area to face powerhouse Jenks in a massive 6A-1 showdown featuring top five teams.

GROVE 42, FORT GIBSON 13

Grove remained undefeated with a runaway win over Fort Gibson on Friday night. The Ridgerunners would beat Fort Gibson 42-13 on Friday night. They have a week seven game with Miami but a showdown with unbeaten Wagoner looms in week eight. On Friday night, Grove would only lead 14-13 at halftime but they wore the Tigers down and would absolutely dominate the second half. The Ridgerunners would dominate all four quarters, outscoring Fort Gibson 21-0 in the final quarter to make the final score a more lopsided affair. Grove's offense looks like a unit that is ready to take that next step and contend within the district and even more.

HOLDENVILLE 32, BEGGS 14

Coming into this season, we thought that Holdenville had the experience and firepower to make a run in Class 2A-2. But they continue to raise expectations this season. The Wolverines would get a huge non-district win over North Rock Creek, which is looking more impressive every week. And on Friday night, they got a big win in district play, beating Beggs 32-14. When the new 2A-2 rankings come out on Sunday night, don't be surprised to see Holdenville flirting with a spot in the top five. It's time to start taking a look at this team as another serious threat when it comes to the 2A-2 state championship picture and we have quite a few contenders.

HOOKER 54, CASHION 14

The Hooker Bulldogs left no doubt on Friday night as they beat Cashion 54-14 on the road. Despite some turnover issues, Hooker would score at least 50 points for the third time this season. The offense would absolutely roll, racking up around 550 yards of total offense and they did it with a balanced attack. They finished the night with over 200 passing yards and over 200 yards on the ground. Hooker is now 5-1 on the season and they didn't get caught looking ahead to next week's massive showdown in the panhandle. It'll be #1 vs #2 in Class A-1 and a rematch of last year's state championship game as Fairview comes to town.

JENKS 45, MUSTANG 13

The Jenks Trojans are quickly returning to form as a state championship contender. They went on the road and beat up on Mustang, winning 45-13. The Trojans were led by their star running back [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] as he would run for over 200 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone. The defense was also playing lights out and held a Mustang offense that has been explosive this season to just 13 points. The Trojans have now won back to back games following the 1-3 start. We can't help but think about how the Trojans would turn things around after a slow start last season, making it all the way to the title game. Maybe history repeats itself this year.

MIDWEST CITY 14, BISHOP McGUINNESS 11

In another upset that we definitely didn't see coming, Midwest City went on the road and beat Bishop McGuinness 14-11 on Friday night. The Bombers would improve to 3-3 on the season, bouncing back from a tough loss to Newcastle. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='1332266' first='Jahhim' last='Mahmoud'] would have a big night for the Bombers. He scored the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The 1-2 punch of Mahmoud and sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1035105' first='Roman' last='Manella'] was tough to stop on Friday night, specifically on the final possession when the Bombers needed to score. This win has turned this district into potential chaos as we look ahead to the final four weeks.

MILLWOOD 41, OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL 7

For the second straight week, Millwood would square off with another top team within Class 2A-1 and for the second straight week, the Falcons made quite the statement to the rest of the class. Millwood would go on the road and hand OCS their first loss of the year after beating Jones last week at home. Millwood rolled to a 41-7 victory behind a balanced offensive effort and a dominant defensive performance. Senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='360157' first='Xzavier' last='Thompson'] was one of our players to watch coming into this week and he definitely performed at a high level, finishing the night with a receiving touchdown and he took a punt back for another score.

NORTH ROCK CREEK 41, PAULS VALLEY 34 (2OT)

It was probably the best game of week six as North Rock Creek won a thrilling double overtime game with Pauls Valley. The Cougars prevailed 41-34 in this match-up featuring ranked teams in Class 3A. Going into the week, we mentioned how this game was headlined by the D1 talent on the field with North Rock Creek's [player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] and Pauls Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] and those two did not disappoint. Both of them produced at a high level throughout the night but it was Hawkins and the Cougars that prevailed in the second overtime. It's a massive win for North Rock Creek as a program and for the district standings.

PERKINS-TRYON 52, SEMINOLE 8

Coming into the week, we thought this game would be a competitive one so when we saw the final score, it definitely took us by surprise. Perkins-Tryon absolutely dominated Seminole, winning 52-8 on Friday night. The Demons leaned on a 2-headed monster within their rushing attack and a defense that completely limited what Seminole could do on the offensive side of the ball. In Class 3A, Perkins-Tryon is quickly turning into a team that is rounding into form. They made a run to the 3A semifinals a year ago and this year's young squad is growing up very quickly. This win definitely helps them in terms of the playoff picture.

PRYOR 31, CLAREMORE 6

Another upset that took place Friday night might not have been an upset when you look at the final score. Pryor absolutely dominated Claremore, handing the Zebras their first loss of the 2024 football season. Pryor defeated Claremore 31-6 and that's a very important win for the Tigers as they head further into district play and it makes this district way more chaotic. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1366322' first='Braden' last='Ward'] had a big night as a passer and a runner on Friday night. And after the way last week's game ended, Pryor needed a big bounce back win. After losing to Tahlequah on the final play of the game, Pryor bounced back with a dominant win over Claremore.

STROUD 52, ALVA 14

Stroud remained undefeated with a top ten victory over Alva and they did it in convincing fashion. The Tigers won 52-14 as their rushing attack continues to absolutely pummel opponents. Stroud would finish the night with just over 350 yards on the ground and they are definitely a team that we need to take seriously when it comes to Class 2A-2. Ever since district play began in late September, Stroud has hit an extra gear. They are scoring at least 50 points more regularly and look like a team that is built to make a deep playoff run. The race for the 2A-2 championship looks like it's going to be an interesting one with run-heavy teams.

TALIHINA 27, CENTRAL SALLISAW 6

In a battle of "Golden Tigers" it was Talihina that came out on top, winning 27-6 over Central Sallisaw. Talihina is now 6-0 on the season and it's time we start talking about them as a serious contender in Class A-2. And that's a remarkable fact as we continue to remind our readers that it was just two years ago that Talihina wasn't playing football at all because of low numbers. They dropped football for the 2022 season and two years later, they continue to climb the A-2 rankings and are sitting at 6-0 on the season. Sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] is a big reason why as he continues to dominate as a dual-threat QB.

TUTTLE 42, BETHANY 19

In a 4A clash featuring top five teams, Tuttle went on the road and made quite the statement to the rest of the class. They beat up Bethany 42-19 and their offense showed why they are going to be very tough to stop through the rest of the 2024 season. The three-headed monster of [player_tooltip player_id='215570' first='Brady' last='Mcadoo'] [player_tooltip player_id='211560' first='CJ' last='Simon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='473754' first='Cruz' last='Campbell'] will be a problem for the rest of their 4A opponents. We are now a little less than two weeks away from a Blanchard-Tuttle showdown with the district championship on the line. Tuttle is definitely right there in the discussion with the other top teams in Class 4A as a serious contender to win the gold ball.

WILSON 20, RINGLING 14

In another upset that we definitely didn't see coming, Wilson stunned Ringling 20-14 on Friday night. This feels like a game that came out of nowhere as Wilson began the season with an 0-4 mark but they've won their last two games, including the week six win over a Ringling team that was in the top ten. When the new rankings come out on Sunday night, we'll see a new team entering the fold as Ringling drops out. This district is quickly turning into chaos moving forward. There were quite a few big results in the smallest 11-man class this week, proving again how there is entertaining and great football all over the state.

WOODLAND 34, HOMINY 14

Top-ranked Woodland once again showed why they are on top of the Class A-2 rankings with a 34-14 win over rival Hominy on Friday night. This was a top five match-up and a game that could very well decide the district championship. Senior quarterback and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='806158' first='Trey' last='Bennett'] really played well and backed up the hype as a PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist athlete. Bennett would toss three touchdowns and run for a fourth score in the win. He also had two interceptions on defense. We've said for a while that Bennett is one of the best small school athletes in the state and he showed why on Friday night.
