is a 2026 signal caller that we started to buy stock in around this time last year. We’ve gotten a chance to watch him up close in camp and 7v7 settings and each time, he has always looked the part, with a strong arm and very consistent play. However, the 2024 season had to be frustrating for Moorman as he was dealing with nagging injuries and didn’t have a full season to go to work with a pretty talented group of skill position players with the Cardinals. But Moorman appears to be back to 100 percent and his recruitment is starting to pick up some momentum. We’ll be catching him in person very soon at various 7v7 tournaments and we’re looking forward to seeing him back on the field when the pads come on this fall.

in person, he’s better than the last time. Moorman has shown steady improvement over the last 18 months and there is no doubt that he could have a monster junior season. We’ve talked a lot about the talent that the Cardinals return at the skill positions and Moorman will be the guy driving this offense from the quarterback position. Moorman has weapons at wide receiver, a solid running game and an offensive line that might be a little inexperienced but they have talent there. The 2024 season could be a memorable one for him if he continues to progress as a quarterback.

is quickly becoming a name to know in the state’s 2026 class. Moorman first got on our radar around this time last year at one of our camps. You could tell that there was a lot of natural ability there from a passing standpoint. Moorman would go on to have a solid sophomore season with the Cardinals and Collinsville is definitely one of the top teams in Class 5A as we head into the 2024 season. Watching Moorman throw it again on Saturday, we’ve noticed something in particular in his game that shows solid improvement. His delivery looks more compact and it’s allowing him to get the ball out quicker but with the same arm strength.

Because Collinsville’s running game is so strong and wears down opponents, that has opened things up in the passing game for sophomore

at quarterback. The Cardinals have had a really good string of quarterbacks over the last several seasons. First, Andrew Carney led them to the school’s first state championship. Then you had Kaden Rush last season who became a breakout star while replacing Carney. Now, Moorman has taken over and he’s done a good job so far this season. But we’re looking forward to seeing how Moorman looks as the competition gets ratcheted up in district play.
