Union running back Tayveon Parry Tayveon Parry 5'11" | RB Union | 2026 State OK stood out to us early on in his career. In back to back offseasons in 2023 and 2024, Parry looked like a player that was primed to be one of the top running backs in this class. As a junior in 2024, Parry finally had that breakout season. He became one of the more complete running backs in the state. He was just as effective in the ground game as he was as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Parry continued that this season and despite Union going through a rocky season, Parry still found a way to stand out week after week. In our opinion, he’s one of the more underrated running backs in the state and will be an impactful player at the next level.

Senior running back Tayveon Parry Tayveon Parry 5'11" | RB Union | 2026 State OK was a player that had always impressed us in the last few offseasons but he was waiting for his moment to break out when it mattered the most. That moment happened in 2024. Parry emerged as Union’s top option in the running game, running for more than 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. He also became a reliable threat out of the backfield in the passing game. He finished with over 400 yards and five touchdowns on 43 catches. So like we’ve said a few times now, whoever wins that QB battle is going to have a reliable playmaker in the backfield with him. What’s scary is Parry won’t be splitting carries this fall like we saw in 2024.

The last time we updated the rankings in October, Union’s Tayveon Parry Tayveon Parry 5'11" | RB Union | 2026 State OK was a running back that soared up the list and was in the middle of a breakout season. Parry continued to dominate from the running back position and was arguably the most dynamic weapon in the Union offense last fall. As we start to look ahead to the 2025 season, it’s hard to imagine many running backs in Class 6A-1 being more of a playmaker than Parry. And this is a class that is loaded at that position but Parry belongs near the top. Parry has really stood out to us in each of the last two offseason’s but he finally got his opportunity to shine in the fall and he ran with it. Don’t overlook Parry’s ability to be a pass catcher out of the backfield. He’s a complete weapon on offense.

Looking back at our notes on Union running back Tayveon Parry Tayveon Parry 5'11" | RB Union | 2026 State OK and there’s one word that keeps coming up. Potential. We first watched Parry in the 2023 offseason and he showed a lot of potential. He did the same this offseason but we were still waiting for that breakout moment when the lights are brightest in the fall. It’s happened this season. Parry has emerged as one of the top running backs in Class 6A-1 this season and he leads the Redhawks in every rushing category. Parry is also third on the team in receiving and he has been a complete weapon for the Redhawks on the offensive side of the ball. Parry has been a guy waiting for his opportunity and he’s absolutely taken advantage of it this season.
