In what was anticipated as one of the games of the year, [player_tooltip player_id='948097' first='Patrick' last='Greisen'] and the West De Pere passing attack delivered a performance to remember. The QB1 in the Class of 2026 continues to earn that spot week after week, and this week was the best week to date. Patrick is a confident, poised leader well ahead of where you would expect a first year varsity starter to be. Patrick trusts his own talents and the talent around him and it shows as he pushes the ball downfield. Looking at the arm strength, Patrick has the ability to deliver darts to all three levels of the field and his control over his velocity is key as he puts the ball on excellent trajectory paths to his receiver. The accuracy is elite. You see him hit back shoulder fades, drop it over a shoulder in stride, or bullet one in on the sideline through a tight window, along with so many other examples. Patrick also is excellent moving around the pocket to buy time and does it while keeping his eyes downfield. The junior signal caller is a special talent at the QB position. Check out the excellent tape for yourselves.

A senior RB putting together a very productive season is [player_tooltip player_id='383802' first='Taylor' last='Schaumberg'] of Lomira. I really like the way he runs the ball. His vision flashes at the beginning of every carry as he finds a block to cut off of or a seam of daylight to attack. Once he finds it the senior plays without hesitation. He sticks his foot in the dirt and attacks upfield. Once he breaks the line we see the physical gifts take over. Taylor possesses solid lateral agility to make defenders miss, give him a better angle, or to put himself back into open green grass. The speed to break off the big play is there and what helps set him apart from other RBs is Taylor also has solid contact balance. We see a lot of broken tackles and running through arm tackles. Something you don't usually see from a speedier runner. Check out the highlights from the hidden gem.

In one of the bigger surprises from Week 8, Wauwatosa East beat Catholic Memorial in commanding fashion. That was in big part due to the Tosa East defense, and the running of senior ATH [player_tooltip player_id='245971' first='Malachi' last='Mack']. It seemed like every touch was going to be a highlight reel type of run. The mix of power and speed that Mack runs the ball with is impressive. His contact balance through hits and the body control to be able to recover from awkward angles and then burst back to top speed is a rare trait and it shined Friday night. Malachi also has the game breaking speed when he hits the open field and even against a talented defense that speed stood out on tape. Mack carved up the CM defense with his speed, balance, vision, and innate ability to make the highlight reel play look easy. Don't sleep on the senior playmaker anymore. Check out what he did.

River Falls came away with a big victory over Menomonie in Week 8, and a big reason why was the right arm of junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='700211' first='Tino' last='Massa']. The big-framed, big arm QB was letting it fly Friday night. The arm strength really shines on tape this week as he pushed the ball 30, 35, and 40+ yards downfield. Multiple of those big throws came while he was on the move or while he was off-platform with defenders right in his face. The junior clearly believes in his arm and it delivered in Week 8. The accuracy to drop it in the basket in those scenarios was a major factor to his success on the night as well. Check out the big play riddled highlights from Week 8.

The senior QB let his arm strength and accuracy/touch dominate the night as he easily dropped dimes over the defense to his open receivers. Kallay also showed a lot of poise throughout his highlight reel. Whether it was delivering with a man in his face, scrambling around but still finding a receiver instead of abandoning the play.
Reid was a force on both sides of the ball, and should be considered on both sides as a recruit. The senior has a massive frame that is loaded with overwhelming power that shines at DE and RB. As a runner, Reid is a downhill ball of force that defenses can't slow down without a gang of tacklers. Even when they do have that it is still a battle to bring him down with his balance through contact and the way he is the one who delivers the contact. Despite being 6'2' 230 lbs, Reid also has the speed needed to break off the big play at this level, telling me he has the speed to make an impact at the next level.
One of the most electric and explosive playmakers in WI is junior [player_tooltip player_id='700025' first='Brody' last='Schaffer']. The Winneconne QB is a game wrecker with the ball in his hands. His speed and vision with the ball in his hands are very high quality. The way he can accelerate when he sees the hole and sticks his foot in the ground is elite. There are clips where he is moving through traffic and it looks like the rest of the field of athletes aren't moving as he bursts past them. Brody is just as dangerous with his agility as he is with the pure, long speed. He has the ability to move laterally so smoothly and then be instantly back to top speed. Being a playmaker is the ability to make the out of the ordinary, special, game-changing play look easy. Brody has that ability.

Another week, another massive performance from the Medford workhorse RB. The vision on display in this game was a key to his dominating performance. Paxton did a great job following the initial blocking, finding other blocking at the second level and in space to utilize, and also finding lanes to cut back through when needed. Rothmeier also flashed his speed once he burst through the hole that those blocks set up. The consistency that this senior RB has in terms of production that leads to victories is exceptional.
Ryan is going to be a name to know in the Class of 2027. He already looks like a senior running around with a well put together 6'1" 180 lbs frame. The sophomore runs with super long strides that eat up yards in a hurry. You can watch it on his second score on tape where he easily eats up the cushion and runs right past the CB. The straight line speed is very well complemented by physicality. Whether it is at safety where he is delivering hits that force fumbles, or ripping through arm tackles and piling up yards after contact. The body control at Ryan's age, size, speed, and strength usually tips off that there is a very high ceiling. Get this kid on your radars early.

Trenton is one of my favorite underclassmen to watch on tape and in person. In week 8 the sophomore spent time at left tackle and right guard, holding down both spots very well. The sophomore lineman has special traits. He is light as a feather on his feet. Feet that are quick, agile, and can get him deep in a pass set very quickly to cut off speed rushers. With the excellent movement traits you wonder if he has the strength side of the game, but you can rest assured he does. The film is there of him setting a strong anchor vs larger DL and also absorbing the power that speed rushers try to create on contact. The young lineman also does a great job of playing with strong hands to control his opponent. Trenton also brings that nasty mentality to finish blocks or to go find someone to hit if he didn't have a man over him at the start of the play. I'm very excited for what is to come from the sophomore lineman.

Marquette is well on their way towards defending their D1 State Championship, and a big reason why is that their offense hasn't missed a beat. That isn't easy to do when replacing your QB and top receiving options, but Mason Steinhoff has done a great job stepping in. His week 8 highlights show a senior that deserves a look from the next level. There are multiple times in Week 8 where Mason delivers dots while taking a hit or not having his feet set. He has the arm to be able to push the ball, even while in those tough situations. Steinhoff also clearly has the ball placement to excel too. Marquette loves to get him outside the pocket and throwing on the run, and Mason seems to thrive in those scenarios. Definitely keep an eye on the senior as we wrap up the regular season.
