One of the biggest risers this season and top performers at State was senior RB Taylor Schaumberg. You can expect to see that ranking make a massive leap in the coming weeks as we update the rankings. The heavy workload back has dominated the season with well rounded attack. Taylor was able to make the game changing big play with his vision, burst, and open field speed. He is a natural athlete who made the defense pay every chance he could. Taylor can be used inside and outside too. Between the tackles, the senior plays with excellent patience and has a great feel and instincts for when to attack and when to let things develop. The workhorse senior is still uncommitted, so give him a look!

The more I watch Taylor the more I love the way he plays the RB position. The senior RB is so patient with the ball in his hands. He always lets blocks develops and has the vision to see those blocks before they happen and the lane that opens up after the block. Taylor also has the physical tools. Every week we see him run through arm tackles so easily and continue to gain yards after the broken tackles without having gather himself. Schaumberg is going to be a riser in our next rankings update. Get eyes on the senior RB.

It is impressive watching Taylor run the football. He is able to fit what the situation calls for every time. If he needs to get slippery and shifty through tight alleys he can do it and leave a trail of missed tackles behind him. If he needs to do the dirty work and break tackles or recover from tough angles the senior has the contact balance and body control to do so. Plus the under the radar senior has the speed to get to the edge and up the field before pursuit can get to him. Taylor is a very well rounded athlete who has really broken out this year. He is on the rise and needs far more attention and eyes on him. Watch the film.

His vision flashes at the beginning of every carry as he finds a block to cut off of or a seam of daylight to attack. Once he finds it the senior plays without hesitation. He sticks his foot in the dirt and attacks upfield. Once he breaks the line we see the physical gifts take over. Taylor possesses solid lateral agility to make defenders miss, give him a better angle, or to put himself back into open green grass. The speed to break off the big play is there and what helps set him apart from other RBs is Taylor also has solid contact balance. We see a lot of broken tackles and running through arm tackles.
