We have only had Hunter on our radars since the start of the 2025 season. He is only a freshman, but every time I cross paths with him I come away so impressed by where he is at in his development. The freshman RB started his day with a 5’11” 180 lbs weigh-in, 4.81 40, 4.53 shuttle, 8’11” broad, and a 7.60 L-Drill. A great base of athleticism to continue to build and develop his game around.
On the field in 1 on 1 battles is where the 2029 RB solidified his MVP for me. First off, he took to the coaching so well and implemented what he was taught instantly. Hunter did really well with his route running. Wheels, arrows, and getting out into the flats from the backfield all were routes he was able to get open on. His body control to be able to get in and out of breaks and force LBs to bite on fakes opened up separation. Not that he needed much because the 2029 RB was fantastic making some very difficult catches through contact. It was catches at every level of the field too. This is going to be an RB to keep a close eye on over the coming years.

Hunter instantly made his way to the varsity team as a freshman in 2025, making an impact at RB and DB. Because of the obvious lack of experience this past season was a great look at Hunter’s natural gifts and instincts. The way he was able to win with his speed or explosive burst/leaping. The freshman was able to show the talent to make plays as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. Then on defense the freshman was able to roam the secondary effectively because he was able to cover ground quickly as well as put himself in position to make plays as he read the play unfolding. With a year under his belt I’m excited for that sophomore year jump.

Hunter is one of only a few athletes in this Class who already has made a strong impact on both sides of the football. On offense Hunter piled up 82 carries, 490 yards, and 8 TDs with an additional 13 receptions, 172 yards, and 2 TDs. On defense Hunter was able to make 51 tackles, 5 TFLs, and 1 FR. That all led to Honorable Mention All Conference honors. The best way I can describe Hunter is balanced. He already is showing he can win plays in so many ways. The speed is there to break off the big play. He will run hard between the tackles. He won’t hesitate when filling against the run game. Hunter plays like a veteran, yet he still has three years to go. This is a kid to keep an eye on as he grows and improves.
