Man do we have a great week of talent and film to go through from Week 7! We have sophomore athletes making a name for themselves in the backfield and in the trenches, and we are talking special talents there. We also have a slew of junior and senior playmakers at WR, RB, and QB who put up impressive stat lines on the way to big wins for their programs. This group of 12 did their part and more to help their teams in Week 7. I highly recommend getting to know these athletes and diving into their linked Hudl highlights for yourselves. It is an exciting group! Enjoy!

Stats: 225 Rushing Yards, 40 Receiving Yards, 2 TDs

The junior RB out of Stevens Point ran wild Friday night! It didn't matter if it was inside run, outside run, or as a receiver, Johnny was going to find his way into the open field. His vision and explosive lateral burst allowed him to make something out of nothing on multiple carries where he would make a couple defenders miss then find himself running free thanks to the space he created. Mathews read his blocks very well too. Multiple highlights show him quickly finding the lane and then his excellent acceleration would handle the rest as he burst through the hole and was off to the races from there. Johnny is also a slippery runner who was able to run through a lot of arm tackles. Not something you see from most 165 lbs runners. Check him out.

Stats: 8 Catches, 112 Yards, 1 TD

Christian is developing into an impressive WR prospect with a well-rounded game. He can play the part of a possession receiver with his big, strong frame. He can run the short-intermediate routes and use his size to create separation and show his strong hands through catches in traffic. Plus Christian will run hard after the catch and be a tough tackle in the open field. Griffin also offers the ability to take the top off the defense. His speed and long strides can get him behind the defense quickly and he has the ball skills to easily run underneath those deep shots. Christian is quickly becoming an impressive outside receiver recruit. Size, strength, hands, and speed are all coming together in one solid playmaker. He scored 4 times between offense and special teams and only needed to touch the ball 8 times to do it. That is an insane rate of efficiency. The junior RB is an explosive runner. He can stick his foot in the ground and burst through the hole, his lateral agility while running at top speed is very sudden and forced defenders to completely miss on him. His vision between the tackles impressed too as he consistently found the quickest path to daylight and his ability to see it quickly allowed him to play faster. It also made him an impact kick returner. Drew was constantly running free behind the defense in Week 7 and his QB was finding him on those occasions for big plays. It was great to see the young player have the awareness of the coverage and just settle into a spot or area and let his QB find him. Drew is making strides with his route running too. The sophomore is going in and out of breaks with speed and showing the balance needed to be able to come out of a route and quickly accelerate. It is great to see the sophomore already carving out a role on varsity. Big things ahead for him.

Stats: 70 Yards Rushing, 199 Receiving Yards, 1 TD

Bryce was all over the field piling up yards in Week 7. As an RB, Bryce used his speed to attack the edge and vision to find the lane he was going to cut up through. His acceleration allowed him to hit holes hard before flowing LBs or filling DBs could get to the hole. That speed shined out wide too as he consistently got quick releases, stacked the CB, and got free down the sideline for multiple deep receptions. Bryce did a good job of playing the ball in the air and timing his leaps. Plzak has great hands that effortlessly reel in passes deep downfield. The senior is a hidden gem in this class. He is rewriting the record books at the school and Week 7 was a big step towards that. Julius has excellent body control and foot quickness to be an effective route runner and an elusive runner after the catch. The senior has very natural hands that easily pluck the ball out of the air. He also does a great job of finding the ball in the air and adjusting his path slightly so always be in a position where he can catch in stride or protect the ball if he is making the catch in traffic. Carter has a big frame and soft hands that provide a big target radius when you put them together. TD after TD the senior dominated the redzone. His ability to time his leaps to high point the ball well over the DB or use his big frame to box out gives him a major advantage. We have preached how much he thrives in the redzone, and this week he went above and beyond in that part of the field. The sophomore LT has so many natural tools that are extremely hard to find. First off, the kid is a massive 6'7" with a long wingspan. He is still filling out that frame as he sits at about 240 lbs currently. The athletic side of his game is exceptional for his age. Ethan is light on his feet, allowing him to reach DL, attack LBs at the second level, or provide excellent blindside protection in pass protection. Ethan is able to mirror pass rushers with his quick feet and reactive athleticism, shutting down counter moves after stopping the initial rush. McIntosh also does a great job of using that elite length to control where his opponent goes. As the weeks go on we are seeing him finish blocks more and more with that nasty mentality you need to dominate in the trenches. On top of it all, the sophomore seems to have a great base of power to continue to add onto as he adds weight and muscle over the coming years. Big things are ahead for this kid. Kenesie took over the game vs South Milwaukee in Week 7. The sophomore put together a season's worth of highlight reel runs in one game showing off his ability to make the special play look easy. Chris already possesses a fantastic blend of contact balance, elusive running, agility, and speed. All together those traits make him a nightmare to contain and even when they do he has shown he can break tackles and gain those tough yards. On top of the physical tools, Christopher has very good vision to find blocks, seams to daylight, cutback lanes, or how to set up a defender based on his flow to the ball and leverage. Big things are ahead for the standout sophomore. Get him on your radars early.

Stats: 12/20, 223 Yards, 3 TDs

It what I thought would be an exciting game this past week, Racine Case came out and put on a dominant showing vs Oak Creek. Leading the way was senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1209461' first='Leo' last='Chiappetta']. The senior QB is very technically sound as a passer. Quick feet and release, the throwing motion is efficient and looks as prototypical as you could hope for with a high release. The senior does a great job of working from read to read looking for the best target instead of locking onto one man. Leo does a great job of moving and sliding around the pocket to buy time while also keeping his eyes downfield. He is a poised athlete that his offense can lean on. The pinpoint accuracy to every level of the field jumps off the tape too as he fits the ball into windows and drops it in between layers of defenders. Leo is crushing it this year at QB for Racine Case. Don't sleep on the senior.

Stats: 3 Receptions, 162 Yards, 2 TDs

Lauden is a game changer. He touched the ball three times on offense and still was able to take over their game vs Kewaunee. To put it simply, speed kills. On both TD receptions the junior WR was given a pretty big cushion by the DB. Lauden ate up the cushion quickly, putting pressure on the CB, and then simply ran past them on a post route and a deep in route. The second TD came on a scramble drill where Berg did a good job getting to open space on the field after coming out of his break and seeing the QB trying to buy some time. Berg is good length for the position too. Definitely someone I will be keeping an eye on.

Stats: 19 Carries, 136 Yards, 1 TD

I really like the way this junior RB carries the rock. While he doesn't have the workhorse frame, Brady is able to handle the wear and tear of roughly 20 touches a game between carries and returns. Watching through this week's highlights vs De Pere I was impressed by the acceleration to top speed he put on tape. He explodes upfield when he sticks that foot in the ground. Plus his top speed in the open field beat angles multiple times. I also was impressed with his sudden lateral agility to make defenders miss in space or between the tackles where you have to make guys miss in a phone booth. Brady has the balance to be able to do that. Check out his offensive and kick return highlights from the week below.

Enjoy!
