Stats: 4 Receptions, 36 Yards, 3 TDs
We have been a big fan of Carter’s talents over the past year, and his Week 7 performance wrap up how he best dominates. Carter has a big frame and soft hands that provide a big target radius when you put them together. TD after TD the senior dominated the redzone. His ability to time his leaps to high point the ball well over the DB or use his big frame to box out gives him a major advantage. We have preached how much he thrives in the redzone, and this week he went above and beyond in that part of the field. Don’t sleep on the mismatch out wide in West Salem.

Carter shined in Week 5 doing what he does best. Using his size to create problems for the DBs across from him. This week he used it to find success in the redzone, boxing out DBs and making catches for scores. The senior also thrived in the short passing game where he again used that frame to create separation. Carter ran very hard after the catch this week too and was able to put together multiple highlights of him earning the tough yards. Check out the senior steal.

We end with the big WR prospect out of West Salem. Carter is a 6’5″ 200 lbs prospect that loves to compete. We have had him out to Showcases in Minnesota and Wisconsin this offseason, and every time he impresses. The big WR does a really good job of playin the ball in the air. Carter is quick to react and adjust to the ball in flight. Carter is a long strider when he gets in the open field, but is still able to be smooth through routes such as slants, posts, and corners where he can keep that speed through the route. Pontius attacks the ball in the air and uses that size to box out DBs. He also uses that size advantage to be an impact in the run game as a blocker. The film is below! Get on him this summer and fall.

Carter came out to the PRZ WI Combine and we got to see how he compared to other WI athletes. He did great standing out last December at the MN Showcase, and continued that down in Oak Creek. Carter measured in at an intriguing 6’5″ 201 lbs while also running 4.82 in the 40 and broad jumping 9’5″.
On the field Carter demonstrated over and over the ability to use his big frame to create enough separation to win reps. He knew how to position his body so he would have the leverage and his explosive lower body allowed him to go up and attack the ball. Carter also showed off strong hands as he made tough catches through contact. He also did well tracking the ball downfield. Don’t sleep on the junior WR out of West Salem.

Coming in at 6’5″ 200 lbs, Carter is an imposing outside threat at WR/TE. He thrives in scenarios where he gets to lean on his size advantage. Whether that be jump balls, fades into the endzone, or routes where he can box out DBs when making the catch are all times where he is able to easily create the separation needed to make the catch. Pontius also shows off sufficient speed to be able to get downfield or cross the field and pull away from his opponent while doing so. Carter’s soft hands maximize his big catch radius too. The junior is an intriguing prospect out wide. Check out both of his tape clips.

I have become a big fan of Carter this offseason. The 6’5″ 200 lbs WR was a standout performer at the PRZ MN Showcase in December. Watching how competitive he was got me excited for his summer camp circuit and senior season. The big WR maximizes his catch radius with soft hands and the ability to attack the ball at the high point. Carter uses his big frame to create his separation, easily boxing out CBs and catching the ball away from his body. Carter also possesses the talent to be able to contort his body to get his hands on the ball wherever it is in his catch radius. I’m excited to see what he does this year after breaking onto our radar.

from West Salem, WI. Carter was new to my radar, but quickly made a name for himself. Right off the bat, Carter has an intriguing 6’5″ 190 lbs frame that has plenty of room to continue to add size and strength to. More impressive than just the pure size is that Pontius still has next level athleticism and agility while being that big. Carter ran a good 40 time of 4.75, broad jumped an explosive 9’3″, and had a 7.46 L-Drill. On the field, Carter uses his size to create separation. He repeatedly boxed out DBs and caught the ball away from his body with soft hands. Carter also surprised me with how fluid he was running routes. He could make cuts without having to round them off despite his long strides. Also impressive was the high motor he showed throughout the day. This is not hyperbole, Carter was in on every 4-5 snaps during 1 vs 1. He made the day well worth his time, and the QBs wanted their chance to throw him the ball. This is a name to know here in WI going forward.
