I love what I’m seeing here. Luke has made the switch to RB as well as safety on defense. The senior does a good job of following his blocks while also scanning and finding cutback lanes to attack. He brings physicality to the position with his power and also a low center of gravity that helps him to bounce off tackle attempts or drag the pile forward. At safety, Luke shows a high level of instincts and football IQ. He is quick to diagnose plays and has the range to be able to get himself in position to make impactful plays. Don’t sleep on the versatile athlete out of West Salem.

Another impressive athlete at the QB position is West Salem’s

. The 5’11” 195 lbs athlete broad jumped 9’5″ and ran a 4.66 shuttle. That short area explosion matches up well with the athleticism we see on tape. Luke makes a lot of plays running between the tackles on designed calls and when the play breaks down.’
Being a natural athlete has also given Luke a natural ability to throw the ball. He is most effective throwing to level one and two where he can use more of his arm strength to keep little air under the ball. When he goes deeper Luke relies more on touch and accuracy. Baginski is another member of this group that potentially offers more versatility than just as a QB.

Luke is an interesting prospect to scout and project. The 6′ 190 lbs QB is a natural athlete and that has allowed him to step into the roles he is needed in an excel. However, when it comes to the next level Baginski might be best viewed as an ATH instead of a pure QB. That is because of what he shows when he keeps the ball on the ground. Luke shows vision and lateral agility to get himself in position to attack lanes and avoid defenders. He also is a powerful athlete who has proven he can lower the shoulder and gain the tough yards after contact. Plus he has solid top end speed for the big plays when he gets into the open field. Those traits open the potential towards RB or I could see him getting interest as a safety with his athleticism, size, and physicality. Luke is well worth a look. The film is below.
