Mark Johnson | Prep Redzone Scout
Chris is coming off a massive year playing two ways for SJCA while the team was on their way to a State Championship victory. In total, the 2027 ATH put up 143 carries, 1,224 yards, 19 TDs, 24 receptions, 374 yards, 5 TDs, 70 tackles, 9 TFLs, 2 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR, 6 PBUs, and 7 INTs.
SJCA basketball is having a solid season, sitting at 14-9 on the year. Chris has made a big impact across the board from scoring to rebounds to assists, and steals. In total the junior has put together a stat line of 21.3 PPG 5.8 RPG, 5.7 APG, and 3.6 SPG.
On the football field Chris is such a versatile weapon. He is a focal point of the offense with his speed and vision, and on defense the 2027 looks most natural. Chris’ ability to quickly diagnose plays and be in the right place at the right time jumps off the tape. Easy to see why things have really taken a step up in his recruitment recently.

Chris is another dominant two-way athlete for a small school. That isn’t just any small school, though, as SJCA brought home the D7 State Championship in 2025. A big reason why was the dominance Chris displayed. He is an explosive athlete as a RB, handling 15-20+ carries in a game while also flying around the secondary at safety too. His vastly superior athletic profile allows him to play 15 yards off the ball and close on the ball anywhere on the field within seconds. The Swiss Army knife can be found all over the defensive alignment, but one thing for sure is that wherever he is at the offense better account for him. Kenesie is one of the top returning athletes in the Class of 2027 and has the production to back it up with his 7 INTs and 6 PBUs. Check him out.

Chris is going to be one of the top ATHs next fall. The current junior put together a great season and a great final game of the season. On the ground the junior is a gifted runner. He went up against a pretty tough run defense, but his speed and power combo was too much to contain for long. He slowly wore them down with his contact balance and speed to the edge. On defense the safety is an instinctive athlete who is quick to diagnose plays and that speed again shines as he roams the entire field if needed.

Chris is such a fun athlete to watch on offense. He has outstanding elusive running in space. Whether it be running, receiving, or returning punts, Chris seems to always have an instant plan on how to create space from defenders or set them up so he can use those college level athletic tools to beat them. The junior is getting more and more versatile too, making an impact in all three phases of the game and making plays in the run game and pass game on offense. Chris has that innate playmaking ability where when he gets the ball he somehow is always able to create fireworks. That was apparent last week as he turned a few touches into 4 scores. Chris should be someone that everyone at least takes a look at when it comes to the WI Class of 2027.

INTs are the hardest category to predict because it relies a lot on the decisions of others and tricking them into those bad decisions. One of the best at that is SJCA’s Chris Kenesie. The two-way star is great at roaming the secondary, batting QBs into bad decisions and closing on the ball quickly. Most importantly for this category, Chris has the hands to capitalize on his opportunities. Get ready for a big year from the ATH.

Another two-way 2027 that already has an impressive resume of wins and production is SJCA RB/S Chris Kenesie. On offense he can win inside or outside with his vision and knack for making the highlight reel play look easy. On defense the instincts shine as he flies around the field making stops and taking the ball away. You won’t find me putting a cap on what his production could be this fall and beyond.

Another dynamic, explosive, and extremely productive member of the Class of 2027 is Chris Kenesie. The RB/DB put up 1200+ rushing yards and 15 TDs on the ground while adding 3 more through the air in 2024. On the defensive side he was all over the field making 81 tackles, 14 TFLs, 5 sacks, and grabbing 7 INTs. When it comes to instincts Kenesie has some of the best in the Class and he gets to pair it with athleticism that would be unfair without that ability to diagnose and know where to attack or where to put himself on defense to make a play. On offense we watched Chris show off his quickness through the front seven and elusive running while piling up the yards and highlight reel runs. On defense you can’t question his three down, three level ability as he makes plays deep, in 1 on 1 coverage, and against the run game. The fresh highlights are going to be fun to watch in just over a month!

Interceptions: 7
One of the top athletes among the DB position in WI is SJCA’s Chris Kenesie. The sophomore tape shows off an athlete with quick play recognition, easy range to roam from centerfield to sideline, and ball skills to turn his opportunities into turnovers. The big play athlete returned two of those INTs for TDs and batted down 5 other passes. All while also being a 1,200+ yard rusher on offense. The 2027 is a stud to know in that Class.
