Was the starter at the game I attended against Neumann-Goretti. A sophomore, so recruiters might not be heavy on all things [player_tooltip player_id='1506869' first='Nathan' last='Torrealba']. If I were being honest, Torrealba is going to face an uphill battle in recruiting simply because of his measurables.

Thankfully, I had a chance to see Torrealba throw in person, he alleviated some of the questions I had. Torrealba proved he's capable of delivering next-level throws, connecting with Kenny Montgomery for an unreal highlight against Neumann. I bet I speak for the coaching staff when I say it's just a matter of consistency. To be recruited at the QB position, you sometimes have to be more than just capable. This score was Torrealba's first of the year. The sophomore has a 100-yard game under his belt, this coming against Cardinal O'Hara in Week Two. What's worth mentioning, Torrealba is a legitimate threat to churn up yards with his legs. You almost have to be if you're his size. Tape and reports show he's capable of a 30-50 yard game on top of whatever he throws for.

https://twitter.com/PRZPAvic/status/1837525439893369198

[player_tooltip player_id='1282117' first='Jack' last='Drakeley'] is another sophomore quarterback prospect Wood trots out to develop each Friday/Saturday. A bit better looking in terms of height/weight in comparison to Torrealba. Drakeley looked to lead the way in this QB "race" after three weeks. Drakeley's usage has been trending down since. Both prospects are developing nonetheless. Torrealba and Drakeley are two names that will likely be added to our rankings after the next update.

Rushing Attack

When talking the Wood rushing attack, there's one clear name to know. That name being [player_tooltip player_id='599450' first='Yasin' last='Lowry']. Lowry isn't a new name on PRZ, he isn't a new name to me either. He's a former PRZ camp attendee and has been on our radar for some time, you can tell via his Division Two ranking/grade. I am happy we raised his rank in the offseason, yet seeing what he's done through five games this year has me thinking he might need to see another boost on our ranks this post-season.

In five games, Lowry has toted the rock more than 20 times four times out of five possible opportunities. Lowry carried the rock 17 times in the lone outlier. 660+ rushing yards in five games, seven touchdowns to his name. Penalties did Wood in against Neumann. Wood missed out on opportunities to close out the football game, a game spear-headed by the Wood defense, along with an incredible performance put forth by Lowry. Incredible lower body strength and balance, Lowry was witnessed high-stepping out of tacklers draped around his ankles. Lowry was witnessed barreling through defenders in the second level. Lowry proved he could produce between the tackles or via bounce toward the sideline. This 230-yard performance all against premier defenders deployed by Neumman. The young man's stock is soaring, happy to see his hard work bare fruit.

https://twitter.com/PRZPAvic/status/1837555050807226750

Wideouts to Know

[player_tooltip player_id='1506871' first='Trey' last='Smith'] is the more intriguing pass-catcher on the team. 6'3, 175 pounds, a frame coaches usually drool over. The young man is currently unoffered and unranked, the latter is going to change very soon. Smith didn't breakout against Neumann Goretti, as Wood looked to feed a hungry [player_tooltip player_id='599450' first='Yasin' last='Lowry']. Smith came up big against Cardinal O'Hara and Archbishop Carroll, however. 45+ yards in each of those games, averaging four catches as well. Smith is likely capable of more, we have just yet to see it on tape. He's a recruitable wideout who is still developing a feel for the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091187' first='Karon' last='Shedrick'] has looked to transition to WR/DB after serving as Wood's QB last year. Shedrick had a huge Week One last Fall, I remember adding him to our database soon after. Shedrick now provides wideout and DB reps for Wood whenever necessary. Shedrick recorded a PBU earlier in the year, while also catching 10-12 balls based on his mid-season tape shown on Twitter.

Shedrick provides a blend of smarts and athleticism that the Wood coaching staff uses to their advantage. Emergency QB, can start at corner if Moore and Beyah aren't available. Can start at wideout and be an experienced option for either sophomore QB to throw too.

Excited to get [player_tooltip player_id='1181647' first='David' last='Robbins'] off our Watchlist and onto the rankings. I've seen enough to out of the sophomore two-way player.

I have Robbins here with the pass-catchers, although he's a capable blocker and EDGE/DE prospect. Wood is getting great value out of Robbins, you don't always find 6'2, 210-pound underclassmen who can provide serious/quality two-way reps, underclassmen are tough to rely on. Robbins isn't tough to rely on in my eyes. Caught a clutch ball in the flat against Neumann-Goretti. Robbins isn't lighting up the stat sheet with receptions or yards, yet he's a flat option that the sophomore QBs should feel comfortable throwing too. A sniffer or H-Back alignment, Robbins is in tune on all things gap-play. Blocking reps go hand-in-hand with reps aligned at DE. Pass-catching reps are icing on the cake. I hope to see Robbins develop into one of the better TE/DE prospects the PCL has to offer, so long as he stays working hard in the classroom and weight room.

Linemen to Know

Not sure how a massive OL prospect such as [player_tooltip player_id='1506875' first='Deven' last='Demusz'] slipped through the cracks. 6'5, 300 pounds, a frame thats not spilling out at every crevice, Demusz looks like a good 300-pounds. Self-reports a 4.8 GPA.

Didn't make our lists because of a lack of tape on Hudl. Really impressive mover, so much so that Wood often has Demusz aligned in the backfield as a sniffer, one who can cross the face of the QB pre-snap or post, to get out in front of outside zone runs. I see a lot of 300-pounders move, live and/or on tape, not many move as well as this kid. Can work in-to-out, can seal off IDLs while working toward his assignment (EDGE/OLB). Has an attitude, wants and looks to flatten his match up. Violent down-blocker, opens up his hips and gets out of his stance so well, ton of balance that allows him to deliver substantial blows. Has a few reps I saw in person that tasked Demusz with pulling, aligned at guard here. A lot to like here, surprised there isn't any noise in recruiting. I'll do my part to help shine light on the young man, it's deserved.

The Front Four

[player_tooltip player_id='1077219' first='Joseph' last='Johnson'] had an unreal game against Neumann-Goretti. That's why you play the game, however.

Johnson recorded at least 2.5 sacks in this one, not sure if local media picked this up. Robbins on one side, Johnson working inside and out on the other. 52's number kept flashing time and time again. Johnson recorded two pressures outside of the 2 sacks registered, his presence was especially felt. Johnson is a wrestler at Wood, he's a NHS student, on the student council, and carries a 5.33 GPA. More games likes the one he had this past weekend and he's going to fly up our boards. Great motor and energy too.

[player_tooltip player_id='1506877' first='Kai' last='Taylor'] is a new name on my radar. A sophomore who brought juice to the game against Neumann. Taylor had a few fantastic plays called back via penalty if my memory serves me right. Wood staff can call on Taylor to run the rock in relief of [player_tooltip player_id='599450' first='Yasin' last='Lowry'], they can call on Taylor to serve as a pass-catching option behind the LOS. Where I think his presence is most felt is in space on defense, as well as both sides of the special teams units. Can return punts and kicks, can serve as a gunner too. Taylor can set the edge on defense, all while being asked with staying with wideouts downfield in pass-coverage if he's aligned in the slot pre-snap. I saw Taylor do a lot of things on Saturday, I saw him everywhere. This is great for an underclassmen who is just getting started in terms of his HS career. I have college coaches recruiting 2027 DBs that I could call immediately, I thought about it after watching [player_tooltip player_id='1475434' first='Eesa' last='Beyah'] hold down his side of the field. Had Beyah had more tape comparable to what I saw live, I would have sent his name flying. For now, this is a 2027 who I'll stash for the time being. He's well on his way to being ranked beside [player_tooltip player_id='1180764' first='Isaiah' last='Moore']. Interested in if he can provide pass-catching reps too.
