Standout Performances: Week 0 Game-Changers You Need to Know!

We will be looking back at Week 0 and some studs that were able to start the season out in a big way. These are the players that will continue to have breakout games deep into the season and players you will be familiar with.    Modrzewski put on a show in week 0, proving exactly why he's the reigning Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year. He was nearly flawless, completing 16 of 21 passes for a jaw-dropping 338 yards and 6 touchdowns, with just 1 INT. His ability to light it up through the air was on full display as he dissected the opposing defense, spreading the ball around and finding the end zone with ease. He not only set the tone for the season but reminded everyone how explosive this team can be.     Daniel was explosive in Week 0, showcasing why he's a rising star and a sure bet for 2A 1st team All-State honors. He was unstoppable, racking up 242 yards on just 14 carries, finding the end zone 3 times on the ground. His quickness and vision allowed him to break off big runs, and he also added a 20 yard reception to his stat line. With this performance he was able to make a statement and show everyone that he is a force to be reckoned with.     Blais showed his versatility in the Week 0 opener, proving to be a threat on the ground or out of the backfield. Blais rushed for 82 yards on 6 carries and had 2 rushing TDs. He also hauled in 3 receptions for another 82 yards with 1 more TD through the air, showing his ability to pinch it in from anywhere on the field. His ability to make plays in multiple facets of the game make him a dangerous weapon for his team this season.     Spence once again proved why he's the #2 athlete in the state, delivering an explosive performance in his teams win. Spence was a nightmare for defenders, hauling in 7 catches for 189 yards and 2 TDs. His speed and athleticism were on full display, as he consistently got behind the defense to make a big play downfield. His performance was just what we've come to expect from him, as he continues to show why he's one of the top playmakers in Colorado.     Hedman has a night to remember in Week 0, powering his team in a two headed monster relentless rushing attack. He carried the ball 12 times for 138 yards, punching it into the end zone 4 times. His ability to find the end zone and convert opportunities made him a standout performer. If he continues to have games like this he will be a player to add to the radar this season.     Symalla had a monster Week 0 game, showing why he's one of the top backs in the state. Symalla ripped through the defense with 9 carries, accumulating 214 yards and scoring 2 rushing TDs. His combination of speed, power and vision was on full display as he gashed the opposing defense for explosive plays. His talent is undeniable and he will be a game-changer throughout the season for Arvada West.     Mika made a strong statement in Week 0, putting up impressive numbers for his team. He carried the ball 17 times, racking up 160 yards rushing and punching it in 2 times. Mika's ability to consistently produce big plays on the ground makes him a player to watch as the season unfolds. His Week 0 performance is just the beginning of what could be a breakout season for this talented back.     When his team wasn't pounding the ball on the ground, Duhachek was lighting it up through the air. He was efficient and effective, completing 13 of 17 passes for 260 yards with 2 TDs. His ability to stretch the field and deliver accurate passes makes him one of the top QBs to watch this season. His performance in Week 0 was a clear indication that he's ready to lead this stacked Arvada West team to new heights.     Despite all the talent around him, Meurer shined bright is his teams Week 0 victory. The talented receiver hauled in 6 receptions for 139 yards and 2 TDs, consistently making big plays downfield. Meurer's ability to find space and make the most of his opportunities will be crucial, as defenses try to slow down this potent running game. This stat Lind is a sign of more big things to come from him.     Ashford stepped up in a big way in Week 0, Carrying the load with 22 carries for 151 yards rushing and 1 rushing TD. Ashfor's ability to make the first defender miss and pick up chunk yardage was on full display, as he consistently moved the chains for his team. His performance was key in the victory and he is set to be a major contributor throughout the season.
