Ely has named the Top 3 schools he would like to play for on the college level - Kentucky, Virginia, and Appalachian State. All three schools would be glad to get whom I consider to be a strong gunslinger type of quarterback in his program. Ely has a very strong arm - and on his highlights, you see a number of beautiful deep balls hitting wide receivers in stride for big plays and touchdowns. I also liked seeing Ely scramble out of the pocket and make accurate throws on the run for big plays. Ely is definitely more of a pro-style quarterback, but he is not a statue in the pocket by any means. Leaving IMG and coming to an AC Reynolds team that is probably the best in the mountains gives them a dimension they haven't had in recent years from the quarterback spot.

Josiah came into the Forest Hills program from a strong traditionally good school in Dillon, and he has a good, diversified game as a quarterback. Based on his highlights, I would classify him as a dual-threat player who does an excellent job of throwing on the run from multiple launch points in an offense. As a runner, Josiah is decisive and has good speed in the open field to run away from defenders in general. Another thing I like is that in scramble situations, Josiah keeps his eyes downfield to make throws for big plays and doesn't exclusively take off and run. I think this is a great situation for Josiah to excel in and be successful.

I have written about Chance before, and I strongly felt he deserved to be added to our rankings as a rising prospect in the state. Last year was his first as a full-time starter, and he did well for such a young player. I think he excels at throwing over the middle of the field - and with his height being 6'3, he has a good overall vision of the field. That led to some good overall accuracy in throwing the football. As a young player, Chance made some mistakes with some coverage reads from time to time, but in watching him live, he has a short memory and bounces back quickly, not making the same mistake twice. He is in a good system with a good coach, and this could potentially be a breakout season for him.

Last season, Flynn threw for over 2000 yards and 21 touchdowns at a school traditionally known for its running game, so that was something that intrigued us to look further into. Per his Twitter profile, Flynn classifies himself as a pro-style quarterback. His film definitely seems to back up that assessment. One thing that really stands out for me is that if he has time to work off of a play-action fake, it seems to help him get into a good rhythm mechanically and consistently deliver the football on time. Sometimes in straight dropback situations, he can get a little off in the footwork, but he shows a strong arm and good accuracy regardless of that. I think in his development Flynn is in a good spot, as long as he increases his consistency he should have another strong season.

At a school known for its running game more than anything, Norris is an interesting prospect we want to keep our eyes on as he continues to develop. In his highlights, Norris takes advantage of defenses playing to slow the run and completes a good number of deep passes to receivers getting behind the secondary for big plays and touchdowns. I wouldn't classify Branson as a dual-threat, but if he has space he is fast enough to run and take advantage of defenses sleeping on him. We are anxious to see how he continues to develop for his junior season.
