We released our updated 2028 class rankings on Monday, which included 58 newcomers from the sophomore class, pushing our total ranked players to 281. I looked at some of the numbers driving the update in my Behind the Scenes piece, then looked at three things to know about the class as a whole. Now, it's one of my favorite pieces, the newcomers. Here, we're evaluating every new offensive lineman in the rankings.

Jackson is one of a number of impressive young linemen at Southeast Raleigh, and a few college coaches have already taken note of his potential. He was a swing tackle for the Bulldogs in 2025, taking snaps at both tackle positions and left guard, but primarily impacting the game as an athletic sixth offensive lineman. He should have no problem gaining weight in Southeast Raleigh's strength program, and I'm interested to see what role he plays as a junior.

The first thing that stands out for Matthews is how quickly he can slide to 3-techniques as a center, without struggling with his snaps. That's not easy to do for young centers, and something that quickly indicated to me that he's a high-I.Q. player with good coaching and plenty of upside. He already has great size, and as he converts more of that weight to muscle, he's going to be difficult to push off his spot.

Tadi plays guard and center for the always-exciting West Charlotte offense. Tadi's footwork is excellent, and he's able to slide out or block down with ease. He has excellent size for a sophomore, and he already seems to have great play strength. As he continues to develop, Tadi is a player to know on the interior of the offensive line.

Neal was playing well for 7A powerhouse Cardinal Gibbons before suffering an injury early in the year. He doesn't have a ton of experience, but the early returns are promising, as a guy who stays balanced and composed in the running game as a guard. He already has good size, and we're excited to see him healthy next season.

Robinson isn't the biggest offensive lineman—though he's already added some recent weight—but he still had plenty of success as a sophomore. Terry Sanford was built on offensive toughness, and Robinson was one of the guys who led that charge. He's at his best on the move as a puller or out in front of screens, and his technique and quickness should continue as he gets bigger.

Bryson played both left guard and left tackle for Central Cabarrus last season, and we like him best at guard. He's violent on down blocks, and when he gets hold of a defender, he makes sure to finish his block all the way through the whistle. On film, he looks longer than his frame would suggest, meaning he could potentially kick out to tackle, if needed.

A young guard prospect, Williams is excellent on the move and squares his shoulders well to block in space. He has a quick initial step to beat defenders to a spot, and that's part of the reason he was able to contribute some on defense as well. He's early in his development, but he's certainly a player worth keeping an eye on.

McCarty will hit anyone, anywhere, just let him know the time and place. He seeks out bodies to block, and you'll never see him standing around, even if he's finished his primary assignment. He has ample lateral agility to get out on screens and as a puller, and he's an active pass-blocker. Once he adds a bit more good weight, he's going to be considered a top prospect to watch.
