The first thing that stands out for Matthews is how quickly he can slide to 3-techniques as a center, without struggling with his snaps. That’s not easy to do for young centers, and something that quickly indicated to me that he’s a high-I.Q. player with good coaching and plenty of upside. He already has great size, and as he converts more of that weight to muscle, he’s going to be difficult to push off his spot.
