The circuit of back-to-back-to-back weekends on the road has come to a conclusion, as I was fortunate to attend Coach Nick Pennisi's PSR BIG Camp Series on Saturday, May 11. This marks the second year in a row that I covered the event. Pennisi has grown his significantly from last year. With over 400 prospects registered for the event, I had my work cut out for me to identify and scout some of the event's standouts. At first I thought Ollendorf was making adjustments to how he threw the ball; however, as I had the opportunity to reconcile my notes after the event, it appears as though Ollendorf as a release point that is close to being side armed. By doing this, he found a good angle to lead his receiver on a sharp-cutting Texas route. Later on he did the same on an out. This release point allows him to lead his playmakers in front of him well; conversely, at 5'11" I worry about tipped and batted passes at the line of scrimmage when the season starts..... Sorry for being a homer here, but my alma mater Edison High School had [player_tooltip player_id='1105211' first='Christien' last='Darbouze'] represent for our hometown Eagles. Apparently transferring from St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, Darbouze showed some good things. First, he has outstanding size at 6'3" and 210lbs. This size has not been had at quarterback since the days of John Cirri (yes, that's my forever quarterback). This size will help Darbouze command the pocket, absorb hits when necessary, and add an element of tough running when needed. In the few instances I caught of Darbouze passing it appears as though he telegraphed his passes just ever-so-slightly. By doing so, this allowed defenders to get a good jump on the ball with him getting picked off once. Finishing his throws and looking off defenders should clean this up. Go Eagles..... Another guy on the circuit with me is [player_tooltip player_id='341835' first='Kendall' last='Armstrong IV'] from Absegami. His film is not deceiving as I got yet another live look at him. Armstrong anticipates the out route really well, getting the ball out before his receiver breaks off his route and before the defender can react. Armstrong is a fitting name for this quarterback as his arm's strong. This was showcased time and time again as he absolutely threw the ball with vertical distance downfield. His receivers best be in shape and be able to run, because he throws it to the point that only they have a chance to make the play. Lastly, accuracy was not lost in Armstrong's deep ball. He threw the ball really well and seemed to have great timing with any vertical threat he was paired with.

As Darbouze exited St. Peter's Prep, [player_tooltip player_id='751319' first='Jaylin' last='Bullock'] entered. The 6'2" 215lb signal caller was a quarterback that throws a ball with absolute zip on it. At moments I thought I heard the ball whizzing past. He does, however, have somewhat an elongated throwing motion that I would like to see become more compact and immediate. I think the heat on his ball, combined with said release, made some of his matchups unsure on how to handle the ball headed toward them at times..... After admittedly having to look up where Dover High School is (it is in Morris County for those who wondered the same thing), [player_tooltip player_id='1276357' first='Henry' last='Soto'] is a prospect that has command on his throws. As the afternoon started to turn into evening, the wind started picking up, and as such many quarterback's performances were hindered. Soto, however, had no problem delivering balls that cut through the random gusts of wind that happened to blow when he took his spins..... Seneca's rising freshman quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='212049' first='Anthony' last='Tirico'] is a prospect that has many in South Jersey buzzing. After getting serious burn, and finding success, as a freshman on varsity, Tirico showcased his natural talent each time the ball exited his hand. His motion was fluid. His is release was sharp. His spiral was tight. With a natural arm like this, Tirico is a quarterback prospect that we ought to anticipate ascending over the next three seasons.
