Continue ReadingMikal Shank is a good prospect in the 2027 class, even though he hasn’t played a ton of varsity snaps yet. He projects as the starting quarterback for Trinity this season. I got to see him live at the Prep Redzone Pennsylvania 7-on-7 Classic. I came away impressed with him as a passer. He can make all the throws. He also has great size standing 6’3′ inches tall. Shank has good mechanics and sits in the pocket and delivers a good football to his receivers. He is good at reading the defense and finding open receivers. Shank has all the tools to have a successful season for Trinity.
Highlights
Rick Brown Rick Brown 6’1″ | 200 lbs | LB Harrisburg | 2027 State PA is a legit linebacker for Harrisburg. Brown is good at playing in space as an outside linebacker. He does a good job of reading and reacting to the offense and making plays in both run and pass games. He is a good tackler, especially in the open field. In the passing game, Brown plays well at a high level. He is great at dropping in coverage reading the play and then breaking on the pass play to make a play on the ball. Brown has all the tools to play linebacker at an even higher-level next season.
Highlights
Jeremiah Camara Jeremiah Camara 5’7″ | 155 lbs | ATH Reading | 2027 State PA is a lockdown cornerback for Reading. Watching his film, I came away super impressed with his coverage skills. He shows off elite coverage skills in man-to-man defense. He has a good ability to play the man, the ball, and his coverage responsibilities. Then when the ball is thrown his way, he does a great job of breaking on it to create a pass breakup or an interception. Camara has all the tools as a football player, and I expect he will play offense next season as well.
Cameron McCair is a legit quarterback for Columbia. McClair has good mechanics and does a good job setting his feet and throwing the ball. McClair throws a beautiful deep ball. He puts the perfect amount of touch on the ball. McClair also showed the ability to read the defense and know exactly where he wants to put the ball. McClair showed a lot of poise last year and I expect him to play even better going forward.
Princeton Dent Princeton Dent 5’11” | 175 lbs | RB Cedar Cliff | 2027 State PA has limited film from last year but flashed good skills at running back. He shows a good burst in the hole and does a good job of making defenders miss. When Dent gets into the open field, he has the speed to separate from defenders. Dent also showed the ability to play as an outside linebacker and does a nice job playing in space. Dent is an exciting player who should be an even bigger contributor next season.
Highlights
Keon Lovitt Keon Lovitt 5’10” | 150 lbs | DB Milton Hershey | 2027 State PA played cornerback for Milton Hershey last year. He has good coverage skills. He does a good job dropping in zone coverage and playing both the man and his zone. When the ball is thrown his way, he does an excellent job of getting his hands on the ball. Lovitt showed he is also not afraid to come upfield and make tackles in the open field. Lovitt has all the tools to be an elite cornerback.
