Continue ReadingHines had himself a really solid day on Sunday. He’s a 2027 recruit with a good build for his age standing at about 5’10” and 205lbs. He’s a very good athlete and looks way older than a freshman. His confidence on the field is noticeable and he doesn’t shy away from a challenge. He’s got good closing speed and tracks the ball really well. He consistently took good angles and never got beat once. He’s also a fairly explosive athlete and is likely someone just beginning to reach into his bag of potential. The raw ability Hines has is pretty obvious. If he can develop throughout his high school career, he’ll have no issue finding a home at the next level.

Murray continues to develop in just about every area possible. His physical development is clearly in progress, he’s gaining more confidence on the field, and he’s starting to be able to anticipate on the field. He’s a bigger framed athlete who can and will play on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he’s able to rush the passer and get home from time to time. He’s a high motor player and that came through again on Saturday. Offensively, he’s strong enough to block on the line and has good enough hands to go down the field. Saturday, his broad jump was one I wanted to see. I wanted to see how explosive from 0 he was, and he didn’t disappoint. Everything with Murray is trending in the right direction and it shouldn’t be long until he begins to pick up steam.

Wallace was at the 7 on 7 camp just a few weeks ago and absolutely lit it up. I didn’t know he would be back for the Combine, but I’m so glad he was. I left that camp super interested about the 6’3″ freshman who was fantastic both days. He came back to the combine Sunday and killed it again, this time we have numbers. He ran a 4.90 40-yard dash, jumped one of the longest broad jumps of the day at 9’4″, and put in a 7.03 second L-drill, which was top 5 for the entire camp. His athleticism is clear as day. His frame is lengthy and he seems to have success anywhere he goes on the field. Wallace is having a fantastic summer and Sunday certainly helped.

There was one guy who lit up the 40-yard dash and put everyone else on notice right away, and it was Moore. The speed he has is fun to watch because he seems to accelerate to full speed almost immediately. He ran 2 different 40’s timed by 2 coaches each, and the 1st run was 4.59 and the second was 4.62. He then had the fastest shuttle of the day at 4.5 seconds, and had the single longest broad jump of the day sitting at 9’7″. He’s a dual-threat QB who is developing in the pocket as well. He made some nice throws and has a decent arm, but the consistency is still getting there. Either way, he’s as electric as anyone on a field and should do damage this fall.

As it stands now, Mowery is currently one of the higher ranked players in the 2027 class, and I can’t imagine that will change anytime soon. With the performance he just put together Saturday combined with what he did on the field this past fall, it’s clear to me he’s on the path to being a star for the class. He weighed in Sunday at a very healthy 6’1 and 240 lbs. He then followed that up by running a 4.97 40-yard dash and having the 2nd longest broad jump of the day. His drill testing was sound and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders in terms of ball tracking and being able to track the outside hip. He picks things up quickly and then is able to translate it to the field as well. There are so many boxes he checks already that it’s hard to imagine he’ll be hidden for much longer.
