Ruxer, and his teammate we’ll mention next, carried Heritage Hills to a Class 3A state championship last season. Their work paid off in a big way as multiple Power 4 teams began vying for their services. Ruxer, an all-state wideout, and 43 catches for 893 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Recruited as a tight end, Ruxer has great downfield speed and is great after-the-catch. Oklahoma landed a valuable Hoosier State prospect.
Ruxer has exploded onto the recruitment scene over the past year and for good reason. He’s a true end-of-line TE with elite pass-catching upside. Very rarely do you see an offense heavily focus on a TE, but when you have one as talented as Ruxer, he makes it easy. He has a huge frame, big hands, and an elite vertical. His 70 catches for 1438 yards and 21 TDs over the past 2 years are no fluke. The 3-star TE has offers from Oklahoma, Duke, Northwestern, Purdue, and Louisville.
Goldsberry’s teammate for Heritage Hills is also blowing up on the recruiting trail. James Madison, Georgia State, Toledo, Ohio, Kent State and New Mexico are just some of his recent offers. Ruxer is a two-way starter and also shined in the state title game on both offense and defense. He had 43 catches for 893 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season.
Tyler Ruxer is a standout wide receiver whose combination of size, ability to make contested catches, and overall physicality make him a key asset. Tyler is excellent when adjusting to the ball in the air, making him exceptionally reliable in catching passes thrown outside his initial route or in challenging conditions. His impressive 6’4″ stature and long arms give him an advantage over most defenders. Ruxer is known for his gritty playing style; he’s not afraid to engage physically, whether blocking on the perimeter to spring a teammate for extra yardage or taking big hits to secure critical receptions.
Ruxer is a fun prospect to look at because his future is still up in the air as to where he will play. He’s listed as an ATH here because of his size, but he’s primarily been a WR to this point. He’s earned an All-State nod as a WR as well, but with his length and frame you know schools are looking at him wondering if he can play TE. If not, you’ve got a 6’4″ WR who is quick, can win downfield, and knows how to use his frame properly. He may be a small school guy, but he’s certainly not someone schools should skip out on.
