Murray flashes a lot of upside from his spot at defensive end. His sophomore film shows strong ability to shed blocks, stunt inside and wrap up vs. the run and above-average skills as a pass rusher.

Murray continues to develop in just about every area possible. His physical development is clearly in progress, he’s gaining more confidence on the field, and he’s starting to be able to anticipate on the field. He’s a bigger framed athlete who can and will play on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he’s able to rush the passer and get home from time to time. He’s a high motor player and that came through again on Saturday. Offensively, he’s strong enough to block on the line and has good enough hands to go down the field. Saturday, his broad jump was one I wanted to see. I wanted to see how explosive from 0 he was, and he didn’t disappoint. Everything with Murray is trending in the right direction and it shouldn’t be long until he begins to pick up steam.

. The PrepRedzoneNEXT alum is a strong kid who posted a 240 lb. bench press going into the summer before his freshman season and used that power and size to start for the Fighting 59ers (great mascot btw) as a first-year high schooler. Against some high-quality Hoosier State competition, Murray has demonstrated a good get-off and nonstop motor as a traditional 5T that can slide inside when asked to. He does a good job of staying patient and allowing the play to develop around him while maintaining assignment integrity and not over-pursuing, disengages from blockers well when he extends and locks out his arms, is a solid tackler who is strong at the contact point when he can square up on ball carriers and shows a little bit of bend as well. Murray is still raw but has a good blend of athleticism, size, and strength, and with the coaching and development that the staff at Andrean produces, you can they’ll get the most out of the young buck. The Fighting 59ers are once against a must-stop on the recruiting trail!
