From our PRZ7v7 circuit to others, we got to see some great competition and players from all over the state. This week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we'll be taking a look at some of the top players that we got a chance to watch and break down this offseason. From your typical positional breakdowns to other categories like stock risers, breakout players & more.

In this post, we're taking a look at the wide receiver position. Obviously with the nature of 7v7 tournaments, it's easy to stand out at the wide receiver position. This position produces the majority of the playmakers that we see on the 7v7 circuit. These guys were some of the best of the best and we have a good mix of top prospects and very productive playmakers that are on the rise.

[player_tooltip player_id='353412' first='Billy' last='McDown'] - 2025 - Edmond Memorial (Played With F3 Dawgs)

Our first wide receiver that stood out this offseason was Edmond Memorial 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='353412' first='Billy' last='McDown'] while he played with F3 Dawgs, a team made up of his Edmond Memorial teammates. McDown has been on our radar since his freshman year in high school and this offseason was our first chance to really watch him up close and in person. They played in our tournament in early March and McDown really played well. He's a good looking athlete that made several plays throughout that weekend and became one of the top targets for that squad. So when we look ahead to this fall, it won't surprise us at all if McDown ends up being one of, if not the top target in the Edmond Memorial passing game. He has that kind of ability in his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='205531' first='Boston' last='Carrasco'] - 2025 - Union (Played With 918 Elite)

In the very first 7v7 tournament we covered this offseason, Union 2025 standout [player_tooltip player_id='205531' first='Boston' last='Carrasco'] was one of the top performers. While playing for 918 Elite, Carrasco was a star at the early February tournament held at Union. We broke down Carrasco's film prior to that tournament and the thing that really stood out was his speed and just how fast he was in the open field. Then we got a chance to see it for back to back days and that speed certainly translated to the 7v7 tournament. Carrasco is a 2025 prospect on the rise and as more college coaches see that speed on film or in person, the offer sheet will continue to fill up. And when you start thinking about the 2024 season, Carrasco could be one of the top playmakers in 6A-1 football this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='211560' first='CJ' last='Simon'] - 2025 - Moore (Played With Hustle Inc 405)

This breakdown is full of absolute studs at the wide receiver position. And we saw some outstanding playmakers throughout the offseason. But Moore 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='211560' first='CJ' last='Simon'] might be at the top of that list after watching him in two tournaments, playing for Hustle Inc 405. We don't need to over complicate things here with this breakdown. Simon was an absolute star and that's not debatable. Simon has been that guy for a while now and he continues to show why he's a complete playmaker at the wide receiver position. He's just as dangerous beating a defense deep as he is making catches in traffic. Whether it was his performances in the 7v7 tourneys or the Under Armour camp in Dallas, Simon was one of the best athletes we watched this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] - 2027 - Salina (Played With Sooner 7)

The only 2027 prospect on this breakdown is Salina wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] and he definitely belongs. We watched Hooker in several tournaments this offseason and each time, we walked away thinking he was one of the best players in his respective division. The small school standout played for Sooner 7 and their top 15U team and they were one of the best teams we saw this offseason. Hooker stood out at the Springfield tournament in late February and then did it again in early March at our tournament. And what was impressive about that performance was Hooker only played in the games on Sunday and he made up for lost time. He dominated every time he got on the field and helped lead his team to the 15U division championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='315662' first='Dakota' last='Chaney'] - 2025 - Sapulpa (Played With Sooner 7)

Sapulpa 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='315662' first='Dakota' last='Chaney'] played for Sooner 7 this offseason and he was one of the more consistent wide receivers that we watched. He also might be at the top of the list of players we saw the most this offseason. Chaney played in probably four different tournaments that we covered this offseason and each time, we came away impressed with his game. Simply put, he gets open. And while Chaney has the size of your typical "run after the catch" slot receiver, that wasn't the only part of his game that impressed. Chaney was just as dangerous down the field as he was running those simple drag routes to get in space. But we keep coming back to the consistency of his game and that's something that will translate this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1045555' first='Joshua' last='Rushing'] - 2026 - Lawton MacArthur (Played With C4)

Lawton MacArthur 2026 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1045555' first='Joshua' last='Rushing'] is already considered by us, and others, to be one of the top prospects in the state's 2026 class. He had a terrific sophomore season with the Highlanders and our opinion of him as a prospect has only gone up after watching him in person for several tournaments this offseason. Rushing really stood out in the last tournament that we watched him in and that was the C4 one-day tourney in Durant in late March. Rushing was a one-man wrecking crew and was a big play threat down the field and an absolute match-up nightmare for smaller cornerbacks. Rushing's stock is only going to continue to go up as we move towards spring football and the summer months with more coaches seeing his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='456293' first='Kayleb' last='Barnett'] - 2025 - Broken Arrow (Played With TheUNIT Platinum)

Broken Arrow 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='456293' first='Kayleb' last='Barnett'] played this offseason with TheUNIT Platinum and he's another example of a prospect that rose his stock this offseason. Barnett is one of the fastest wide receivers on this breakdown and that speed was evident every time we watched him this offseason. I believe the final tally was three different tournaments we watched Barnett in person and each time, he brought something a little different to the table. At our tournament in early March, Barnett was absolutely electric with the football in his hands and made some big catches as his team would end up winning the 18U championship. A few weeks later, Barnett also shined on the defensive side of the ball with his leaping ability. He's a name to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='587266' first='Quincy' last='Shelton'] - 2026 - Hugo (Played With C4)

Another 2026 wide receiver standout that played for C4 was Hugo's [player_tooltip player_id='587266' first='Quincy' last='Shelton'] and just like Rushing, his recruiting stock is only going up this offseason. Shelton has been on our radar for a little over a year now and we fully understand that he's one of the top dual-sport athletes in his class. He's also a terrific basketball prospect who has traded in the cleats for sneakers as he's going from the 7v7 circuit to the travel hoops circuit. The thing that stands out the most about Shelton this offseason is his growth physically. He looks like a taller wide receiver and he's more of a threat down the field. He performed incredibly well in multiple tournaments in March and he definitely belongs in the discussion as one of the best in the 2026 class.
