With that being said, I wanted to highlight some players at each position that deserve and are still seeking their first college offer. After already covering the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, I will now wrap up this series with some “ATH” in the class of 2025 in the state of Kentucky that make an impact at multiple positions and are still seeking their first offer.
Elijah Webb Elijah Webb 6’2″ | 170 lbs | ATH Paris | 2025 State KY stood out as one of the most electric playmakers in the state last season. On offense, he does a lot of his damage at receiver where he is able to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. He finished this past season as his team’s leading receiver with 24 receptions for 605 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games. Webb also made an impact out of the backfield, finishing the season with 24 carries for 428 yards and seven touchdowns. He also returned one punt and two kickoffs for touchdowns while also making an impact on defense, finishing the year with 26 tackles, three tackles for loss, and five interceptions. I expect that first offer to come for Elijah soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
Darius Akal Darius Akal 6’0″ | 155 lbs | ATH Harlan | 2025 State KY is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to stand out this past season. He is a very skilled ball carrier on offense, showing the speed to break away on long runs and elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. Akal finished this past season with 186 carries for 960 yards and 10 touchdowns in nine games. He also is a very reliable corner on defense, showing the man coverage skills to lock down opposing receivers on the outside. Darius finished this past season with 25 tackles, two tackles for loss, and several pass breakups. Akal should be a player to keep an eye on going into his senior year as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play on either side of the ball at the next level.
Highlights
Brenden Anthony Brenden Anthony 5’11” | 210 lbs | ATH Pikeville | 2025 State KY is another player that has been on my radar for a while now and continued to stand out this past season. He made his biggest impact at running back where he is a strong, downhill runner with the contact balance to run straight through defenders in the open field. Anthony finished his junior year with 137 carries for 1,418 yards and 19 touchdowns, along with one touchdown catch, in 12 games. Brenden also continued to be one of the leaders on Pikeville’s defense at linebacker, finishing the season with 115 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one sack, and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. While he has received some college interest, I expect more eyes to be on him heading into his senior year as he definitely has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Kory Combs Kory Combs 6’0″ | 210 lbs | ATH Breathitt County | 2025 State KY is another two-way player that has continued to impress over the past few seasons. He is at his best on defense at linebacker where he is very impressive against the run. Combs does a great job of reading his keys and flowing to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle in the open field. Kory finished his junior year with a team-high 111 tackles along with seven tackles for loss and one sack in 12 games. He also made an impact on offense at running back, finishing the season with 61 carries for 343 yards and eight touchdowns while also catching two touchdown passes. I can see some offers coming Kory’s way soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
My final ATH in this series is Aiden Blakey Aiden Blakey 5’11” | 165 lbs | ATH DuPont Manual | 2025 State KY from Manual. On defense, Blakey is a very talented safety. He is a true ball hawk in coverage, showing the ability to break on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. Blakey led his team in interceptions as a junior with three while also finishing the season with 22 tackles and two tackles for loss in just five games played. He also made an impact on offense at receiver, finishing the season with nine receptions for 107 yards. Blakey could be having that first offer come his way soon as he has received a good amount of college interest and has the talent to play on either side of the ball at the next level.
