Class D2-Class AAA Player of the Year
This Blue Tornado ball carrier had a breakout senior year where he led the D2-Class AAA ranks in rushing while also being that key piece towards McCallie’s 2023 title run. McMahan was near unstoppable by the end of the season where the 5 ’11 running back played on another level, running around and through defenders for 1,697 yards on his way to 28 rushing touchdowns on the year. McCallie had a balanced team last season on both sides of the ball but I believe McMahan was the defining factor behind the Blue Tornado’s championship run, which is a big reason behind achieving this top honor.

Offensive Player of the Year
It was a tough call to make here for offensive POTY but the impact Jefferson had on the field was near impossible to look past as this future Alabama wideout had the full attention of every team he faced off against and he would still produce at a high level. The Red Raiders stud pass catcher produced his best season yet, being that #1 target his quarterback needed as well as being that leader that never came off the field while also putting up big numbers. The Red Raiders would have been good last season but with Jefferson, they were near elite and now you will be able to see his talents shine on the biggest stage, starting this Fall in the SEC.

Defensive Player of the Year
Leading the D2-Class AAA ranks in tackles at 99 total, Shoaf was an absolute machine last Fall where he was making plays all over the field on the way to his best football season yet. Even though this West Tennessee talent is headed to college to play baseball, Shoaf is a bonafide middle backer that has a nose for the ball as well as a knack for making big plays. That play was on full display last Fall where teams had a hard time keeping track of Shoaf where he produced 16 tackles for loss on the season along with 9 sacks from his linebacker position. MUS had one of the better defenses not just on the D2-Class AAA ranks but also the entire state and Shoaf was a major reason why.

Coach of the Year
Ralph Potter – McCallie
There is no better way to end your coaching career than winning a state title and that’s exactly what Coach Potter did after leading his McCallie team to another D2-Class AAA championship then riding off into the sunset with his “Gold Ball” trophy. This past football season, McCallie was viewed as a title contender but they still had to accomplish their goals and led by Coach Potter, they were able to do just that. This is one of the best coaches to ever dawn our high school football sidelines here in Tennessee and he will be missed but ending your career as a champion is something every coach in America would love to have happen and that’s what Coach Potter gets to do.

Positional MVP’s
QB: Whit Muschamp Whit Muschamp 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Baylor | 2024 State TN – Baylor
– Steady as they come, Muschamp was near unflappable last Fall where he put up big numbers while leading his Red Raiders team back to the D2-Class AAA championship. His ability to place the ball accurately on a consistent basis while staying poised in the pocket should give Muschamp a shot at seeing the field early during his time at Vanderbilt.

RB: Brooklen Davis Brooklen Davis 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB MBA | 2025 State TN – MBA
– Running for over a 1,000 yards this year while being the Big Red’s lone steady performer throughout the season, Davis took a big step in his progression by displaying a hard running style with excellent burst that now has him squarely on the recruiting radar.

WR: Braylon Harmon Braylon Harmon 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Knox. Catholic | 2024 State TN – Knox. Catholic
– Harmon put forth his best season yet in a Fighting Irish uniform by producing 84 receptions with 1,071 yards and 9 touchdowns while also being the top return man in the state as well. You can see his talents on the college field starting in the Fall with the Tennessee Volunteers.

OL: Olivier Camerlain Olivier Camerlain 6'6" | 260 lbs | DL McCallie | 2024 State TN – McCallie
– Before taking his talents to Lafayette, Camerlain showed why he could be a steal for the Leopards offensive line as the native Canadian was outstanding in the Fall at his tackle position where he was linchpin behind the Blue Tornado’s top rushing attack.

DL: Paul Marie-Dogui Paul Marie-Dogui 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL McCallie | 2024 State TN – McCallie
– McCallie had one of the better defenses in the state last year with Marie-Dogui at the front as a key piece and major factor behind the Blue Tornado’s state championship run. The native Canadian produced his best season yet, leading the D2-Class AAA ranks in sacks at 9.5 while also adding 42 tackles and 11 tackles for loss on the season.

LB: Edwin Spillman Edwin Spillman 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Lipscomb Academy | 2024 State TN – Lipscomb Academy
– A consistent performer throughout a tough season for the Mustangs, Spillman was a force on the LA defense that proved why he was considered a top recruit in this state by making tackles from sideline to sideline while also providing a pass rush from multiple positions across the defensive front seven.

DB: Brandon Nicholson Brandon Nicholson 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB MUS | 2024 State TN – MUS
– Several guys could have been considered for DB POTY honors but Nicholson took the top spot after playing lockdown coverage at cornerback for his Owls defense all season long, producing 12 pass breakups, 4 interceptions and 1 pick six.
