Continue ReadingOhlinger had a big sophomore campaign for the Grandview Heights Bobcats rushing for over 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s a big back with an excellent combination of size, explosiveness, and speed. Henry attended our Prep Redzone Ohio showcase in January and put up a really strong 40 time with a 4.69. That’s a time I think he has room to improve upon as he continues his physical development. He broad jumped 8’11 and 9’1 showing off his high-level explosiveness. Those traits definitely carry over to the football field. Off the snap he’s explosive and downhill in a hurry. He has good vision and makes sudden in the open field. When you combine those traits with his size it makes Henry a very hard tackle when he gets a head of steam. Ohlinger is a definite D1 back. He already has pocketed offers from Toledo and Miami (OH). I not only expect that list to grow this offseason, with some strong camps, I think he could start to get P4 interest.
Ricketts is a big-time speedster from Watkins Memorial. At 6’0 190 Ricketts boast a really strong combination of size and legitimate top end track speed as displayed by running a 10.88 100M. The speed translates to the football field as Jaeden consistently stretches the field vertically. He does a good job of tracking the ball and making the over the shoulder grabs. He’s not just a player you ask to go run go routes though, he’s a player who can run strong intermediate and short routes. He does a great job of setting corners up on his breaks and creating quick and easy separation. Jaeden currently holds one D1 offer from Bowling Green. I expect that list to grow significantly this offseason and for him to start to garner P4 attention if not offers.

Brown is a player who possesses an elite combination of size, explosiveness, and speed. Making varsity and seeing the field as a freshman in a program like Archbishop Hoban is impressive on his own. He was used primarily as a fullback who saw some time at tight end. As a sophomore he’s added the defensive side of the ball to his repertoire as he played as an edge rusher. The first thing that I noticed in watching his film is the physicality he plays with. He has good pad level and a strong punch and when he hits opposing players, be it blocking on offense or taking on a blocker on defense. In the open field on defense, you can see his explosiveness and speed as he runs down quarterbacks and plays. As he continues to get bigger and stronger while adding to his collection of pass rush skills, he’s going to take off. He was showing his diverse skillset at the best of the Midwest Combine in Indianapolis where he won a position MVP. He already is getting a lot of P4 attention and could start to see offers this summer.

Elchert is a receiver who saw his recruitment take off last off season as he earned several D1 G5 camp offers with his performances at summer camps. At 6’3 he has an impressive combo of length and explosiveness. His long speed is top end as well, running in the 4.5’s at some of his 2023 summer camps. All of that shows up on his film. In his routes he plays with good tempo and sets up defensive backs well as he breaks and makes double moves. I had a chance to see Seth play basketball a couple of weeks ago and what I saw I really liked. Beyond the athleticism, I saw a player who’s willing to be physical, scrap, and fight to get what’s his. He plays with an edge but knows how to keep his emotions in check. I saw a player who hates to lose. There are a lot of players out there who possess elite physical traits, but these character traits combined with Seths physical abilities are going to make some D1 college coach very happy. I expect Elchert to stack D1 offers and start to get P4 interest this offseason.

Ironton has long been known as a blue collar, hardworking, smashmouth football type of program. Though they may run a spread offense then they did back in the day, that mentality hasn’t changed. Williams embodies those characteristics. He’s a sturdily built running back who thrives between the tackles but has the long speed to turn any run into a touchdown. When the ball is snapped Williams is explosive and immediately downhill. When he hits the hole, he has great vision and is an explosive one cut runner who immediately gets up the field. Zayne shows great contact balance as he’s able to absorb hits and stay on his feet to extend plays. At the next level I really like him in an outside zone offense where he can use that vision and one cut explosiveness to pound the ball at opponents. I’d be surprised if Williams did not start to pick up D1 interest and offers this summer.
