Live from the campus of Austin Peay University, some of the best talent from our #TN2024 class embarked on Clarksville, Tennessee this week for the annual TNFCA All-Star festivities with Prep Redzone TN in person to provide you all the in's and out's from the action.

The actual game isn't till Friday but PRZTN was there for Day Two of practice where we were able to look over several high caliber football prospects and gain a better understanding on the upside of some of the top players in attendance.

(It was mighty cold on Wednesday night for practice, so this is a lite notebook but stay tuned for more in-depth content over the next few days)

Brief Notes ……

- The quarterback position is well represented in Clarksville this week with probably the best collection of signal callers to ever play in this All-State Classic. The West Squad is loaded with passers with two of them destined for the D1, FCS ranks in [player_tooltip player_id='207322' first='Carter' last='Smith'] from Hardin Co. and [player_tooltip player_id='550150' first='Baylor' last='Hayes'] from Brentwood. Both those guys looked very impressive on Wednesday night, especially Smith, who I think is tremendously under the radar and definite D1 prospect.

The Tigers senior passer looks the part as he sports excellent size but it's his arm that wows me. Smith has a cannon of a right arm with the ability to put the ball wherever he wants at any given time. His understanding of the game and command of the offense was impressive as well.

Over on the East Team, Marshall Co. senior [player_tooltip player_id='398083' first='Silas' last='Teat'] looks to be running the show as the lead guy and he looked smooth going through practice, throwing accurate passes as always while also commanding the offense. Behind Teat sits Hendersonville senior [player_tooltip player_id='600029' first='Mason' last='Baker']. The Commandos senior talent also looked good going through his work, displaying a strong arm along with accuracy that I have seen get better during his senior season.

Between those four guys above and [player_tooltip player_id='480626' first='Justyce' last='Law'] on the West team and [player_tooltip player_id='688719' first='Evan' last='Schwarzl'] with the East Squad, we should see some excellent quarterback play on Friday night with the possibility of seeing a lot of points scored.

- Opposing those quarterbacks above, another impressive looking group at practice was the linebackers. Both the East and West have a strong collection of backers that all seem to have that “under the radar” feel about themselves but maybe a strong week here in Clarksville may push their recruiting stocks to another level.

The West Squad in particular has a very talented crop of backers with them, led by Mr. Football finalist and recent state champion, [player_tooltip player_id='695080' first='Zeion' last='Simpson-Smith']. The Firebirds big man appears to be in good condition for this All-Star week with Simpson-Smith coming off a long season that just finished last Saturday.

Centennial senior [player_tooltip player_id='277761' first='D.J.' last='Curll'] and Henry Co. linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='150287' first='Caden' last='Marshall'] were two other West Squad defenders that looked impressive in practice on Wednesday. Both guys move very well with the versatility to play in space or rush backfield. Curll and Marshall have traits that can be developed and utilized well on the collegiate gridiron that showed up well during practice.

Over on the East Team, two guys who stand out to me to follow this week are [player_tooltip player_id='1101604' first='Alton' last='Moore'] from Boyd Buchanan and [player_tooltip player_id='258684' first='Jamarion' last='Farrior'] from South Pittsburg. Both these guys are coming off state title games where both guys were major contributors, so it will be interesting to see how their stamina plays during their time in Clarksville.

- Moving into the trenches, there are some big boys competing at the TNFCA All-Star this week, including multiple future Power Five players. A few guys who impressed with their size but also their movement abilities were [player_tooltip player_id='345970' first='Glenn' last='Seabrooks'] (Davidson Acad.), [player_tooltip player_id='258668' first='D.J.' last='Allen'] (Germantown), [player_tooltip player_id='806459' first='William' last='Zielinski'] (Clarksville), [player_tooltip player_id='149168' first='Hank' last='Weber'] (Brentwood Acad.), [player_tooltip player_id='207325' first='Kison' last='Shepard'] (Germantown) and Adam Harris from Hardin County.

Seabrooks and Harris in particular were two guys that I paid attention to hard as I wanted to see how they have progressed throughout the season and both guys look to be in excellent condition. Seabrooks is destined for Vanderbilt next year while Harris still sits under the radar without many college options right now.

Allen is a big dude with tons of Power Five physical abilities. I will be interested to watch how he moves off the edge this week and what all he understands about being a top level pass rusher. Look for him to make his college commitment this week in Clarksville as well.

- The running back position is well stacked on both teams with some serious senior talent leading the way. The West Squad have two of the best backs in the senior class and from the greater Memphis area in [player_tooltip player_id='277794' first='Damon' last='Sisa'] (Houston) and [player_tooltip player_id='337298' first='B.J.' last='Blake'] from Germantown. Both of these guys showed off their ability to catch out of the backfield during practice as well as show an extra gear once they got into the open field.

Also on the West Squad is [player_tooltip player_id='316773' first='Dominic' last='Reed'] from Centennial. This two-way talent looks to be showcased this week at running back and he looked quite good on Wednesday as he is in great physical condition but is also one of the better overall athletes in attendance. Where he shined the most at practice was his ability to catch the ball both in the intermediate areas and down the field.

The East Team has a solid backfield as well in [player_tooltip player_id='1027726' first='Tyson' last='Wolcott'] from Friendship Christian as well as [player_tooltip player_id='150272' first='Omarian' last='Mills'] from Jefferson County. These two are steady, consistent backs that are durable and dependable along with having the ability to put their team on their back. Wolcott is coming off a long season that ended in the D2-Class A title game last week, so it will be interesting to see how he holds up this week in Clarksville.

Stay tuned to Prep Redzone TN throughout the week for continued coverage from the TNFCA All-Star Classic.
