The Bruins senior passer made his lone season in Middle Tennessee worth it as he not only showed off his college upside but also led his Brentwood team to a region title and one game away from competing for the 6A state championship. Hayes had such a strong senior year that he worked his way into the Top 10 quarterbacks in the state for the #TN2024 class. He has picked up plenty of interest and several offers throughout the process but Hayes has yet to make a decision and remains available to everybody. What a collegiate staff will be getting with Hayes is a confident passer with good arm strength and tremendous feel for the game, so wherever this Mid-Tennessee talent lands, they will be gaining a steal.

A newcomer to the state of Tennessee this year, Hayes took full advantage of his time in the Volunteer State as he not only led his Bruins team to the semifinals but also boosted his stock to become the 8th ranked quarterback by #PRZTN. This 6’0 gunslinger has a big arm sitting on his slight frame that can put the ball just about anywhere he wants to. Hayes is a confident passer that spins the ball well and understands anticipation and timing. While he does need to continue adding more power and strength to that right arm, Hayes does push the ball down field well, showing the ability to throw the deep ball on the college level. He will need to add more weight to his frame if Hayes wants to sustain a long college career but the football knowledge is definitely there as is the arm talent, so I think the Bruins senior passer will only continue to get better as he matures and receives college coaching.

The overall numbers/stats for Hayes may not be large in this victory over Ravenwood but his command of the offense along with several key touchdown passes earned him top honors for this matchup. The Bruins senior passer looked like a D1 level quarterback in this game with his feel for what his offense was doing and making the plays when needed. Hayes may be a tad undersized with his height/weight but the dude can sling it and he is quite confident in his skill set. His command of not just the offense but his team along with his play has him in line to play D1 ball and this contest proved that to me.

Transferring to Brentwood for his senior season, much wasn’t known about Hayes but after watching him perform in person this summer at camps and viewing his current senior clips, this 6’1 passer is legit and someone that could sneak into the D1 ranks. The thing that may be holding college coaches back from Hayes is his size and overall body weight. He does need to pack on the pounds but the Bruins senior quarterback has a great feel for the position along with good arm strength and the knowledge of where to place the ball on time for his receivers. Hayes is also quite mobile, providing good pocket awareness and the ability to tuck it and run. This Mid-TN talent will need time to mature and get bigger on the next level but his upside appears strong and someone worth developing on your college roster. Sr Improvement: Watching Hayes from this summer into the Fall season, he looks more confident along with better accuracy. His early clips show some college level throws in some tight windows that make you smile. Hayes also presents shifty feet that allows him to move in and out of the pocket quickly. Current Stats: 57-99 passing for 838 yards w/ 7 TD’s & 3 Int’s (71 yards rushing & 3 TD’s) ….QB Rating: 96.3
