The top ranked quarterback left on the board from the #TN2024 recruiting class is this West Tennessee talent that for one reason or another is still uncommitted. Standing 6 ‘3 200 pounds, Smith has the college size along with a cannon right arm that can make all the throws, so what’s been holding college coaches back from bringing Smith into the fold? Maybe it’s the 4A competition, maybe coaches think Smith doesn’t move well enough? I don’t know what it is but I know this guy can spin it as I’ve seen it 1st hand several times. The Tigers senior product will eventually sign because he is too talented not to land somewhere but the question will be where? We shall find out in February!

Carter Smith Carter Smith 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Hardin Co. | 2024 State TN has looked phenomenal throughout the 1st 8 weeks of the season for Hardin County High School. He shows good feet within the pocket which leads to good timing on throws down the field. Smith is accurate and shows quality arm strength. His deep ball is very accurate with a good combination of touch and velocity. Good eyes and decision making, he works through his reads and will find the correct target.

Going into the 2023 football season, Smith was viewed as a Top 5 in-state quarterback and he will remain that way moving forward. The Hardin Co. senior signal caller has all the tools you need to play on the D1 college gridiron as he sports the size (6’3 190), arm talent and feel for the game that could allow him to see the field sooner than later on the next level. That statement is made due to his senior film through six games as Smith looks bigger, more fluid with his body movements along with increased arm strength. Looking at as much quarterback film as I do, Smith is one of the more underrated available senior quarterbacks not just in this state but the entire country and I think he will be a steal for whoever signs him. Sr Improvement: Smith has filled out more with his body, which in turn has placed more strength in his right arm. He shows more power and zip out of his throws. Smith also shows more comfortabilty behind center. He showed very nice poise and toughness in the pocket with great accuracy down the field while facing pressure in his face. Good pocket awareness to slide in the pocket and creating throwing lanes with nice touch to layer in throws. Good eyes to get through progressions and he is constantly in rhythm.
