The season is here! We have several games kicking off tonight before the majority begin their season Friday night. Before we get to kickoff, let’s take a look at the highest ranked players who are currently uncommitted. Prior to this article, I went through the rankings and updated every recent commit, so you can see the entire 500+ seniors right HERE. There is a lot of talent left, so let’s break down what is still available. The #1 uncommitted player heading into the season is…
The Hortonville product is a special one at the LB/TE positions. He has great size for either position at 6’4″ 240 lbs. The big athlete carries his weight very well, and is still able to maintain his athleticism. On defense, Miles is able to roam the entire width of the field while chasing down tackles. He is able to easily move with the flow of the play, attack downhill, and fly through gaps to meet ball carriers. Sillas is a reliable, hard hitting tackler too. The instincts jump off the tape too. He quickly processes what he sees, and reacts. You don’t see wasted steps or movement on his way to the ball. He looks like a three down ILB at the D1 level. On offense, Miles’ size and speed are nightmarish to match up with for DBs and LBs. He has soft hands and is a beast to tackle. Get ready fro a big senior campaign from the standout athlete.

Another standout LB who has started to earn FBS offers, and is still on the open market is Appleton North’s Brock Arndt Brock Arndt 6’3″ | 235 lbs | LB Appleton North | 2024 State WI . Brock looks the part of a D1 LB with his 6’3″ 235 lbs frame and 6’6″ wingspan. The tape looks the part as well. Arndt has the traits to be a three down LB at the next level. First and foremost, Brock dominates against the run. He can take on blocks, toss them aside and make the tackle all at the line of scrimmage. He reacts to what he sees so quickly that it seems like he already knows the play. His stout strength makes him a hard tackler too. You can also count on the rangy LB to pick up TEs/RBs going out for passes and be able to run with them in the open field. The instinctual LB is one of the best players available in the state.
The best available offensive player is the massive OT out of Monona Grove. Sam Hawker Sam Hawker 6’9″ | 295 lbs | OL Monona Grove | 2024 State WI checks in at 6’9″ 295 lbs. It is a clean 295 lbs also. Despite all that size, Sam still has maintained an athletic lower body that gives him range to play at the second level or out in space. He also has the elite strength you would expect from a kid that size, and ranked this high. Hawker is able to reset the line of scrimmage 5 yards downfield in the run game. He has solid flexibility in his lower legs that allows him to add some leverage to his run blocking. The massive man is also a natural pass protector. That athletic lower body allows him to get depth in his pass set, and his long arms let him make first contact and also makes him an even bigger opponent for edge rushers to get around. Teams still in the OL market have to start right here. Sam holds multiple Power 5 PWO offers to go along with other offers.

I am quickly becoming a big fan of the 6’3″ 190 lbs CB out of Milwaukee Marquette. The size that Patrick has is elite for the position, and opens the door for him being a three level safety as well, potentially. Watching the tape, O’Brien takes smart, calculated risks to under cut routes while in man coverage to break up passes. He trusts his quickness to be able to make those short area plays. It is impressive watching him flip the switch from man coverage CB to run stuffer too. He flies downhill and will blow up RBs out in space when he gets the chance to square up and run his feet through the hit. Despite his size, Patrick is also able to change direction rather smoothly thanks to his quick feet and loose hips. It is time for him to make his mark on the recruiting trail. Don’t overlook the best DB still available.

We have been singing the praises of Middleton’s 6’1″ 185 lbs safety Thomas D’Onofrio Thomas D’Onofrio 6’1″ | 185 lbs | DB Middleton | 2024 State WI since last fall when he broke onto the scene with a dominant All Conference season. There aren’t many safety prospects that you can trust to play man to man over a slot receiver, slide down into the box and avoid OL while getting to the ball to make tackles against the run game, and then drop back and cover a deep half of the field throughout a game. Thomas is one of those types of prospects, though. His speed and agility allow him to play tight coverage and cover a lot of ground in zone. Plus he will lower the shoulder on RBs in the hole. Look for a dominant season to push Thomas even further up our board and the board of teams.
Next up we have the imposing 6’4″ 300 lbs OL out of Menomonee Falls. Watching through Nino’s highlights it quickly becomes apparent that he faced off against a lot of top talent in the state. It is also apparent that he was able to manhandle a lot of that opposing talent. Nino has the college level strength to be able to win in the trenches. He has the heavy hands of a heavyweight boxer. Plus his lower body allows him to walk big DL right out of the trenches. Nino also shows nimble feet in pass protection and good short area agility. Plus he has a strong anchor that he can set if facing a bull rush. Have your eyes on this kid early and often this year.
It doesn’t matter if it is offense or defense, teams should want the 6′ 175 lbs senior out of Waukesha South on their rosters somewhere. He has the speed in the open field to turn any touch, INT, or catch into a game changing play. It also allows him to pursue and make plays all over the field on defense. Chris seems to be one of those athletes who are a little more developed at this point in their careers. He has very good balance and body control, is efficient in all his movements, and has a confidence that comes from trusting your abilities. Flowers has had a great offseason showing his athleticism and development, earning a PWO from the Minnesota Golden Gophers among other scholarship offers. Don’t miss out on this kid.
Our final defensive standout among the Top 10 uncommitted seniors is Franklin’s DL Jace Miller Jace Miller 6’3″ | 270 lbs | DL Franklin | 2024 State WI . The 6’3″ 270 lbs senior made quite the comeback from ACL surgery last year. He managed to see the field just 6 months after surgery and put together 5 games of tape. The rising senior didn’t miss a step either. He proved to still be a stout IDL who can hold the line of scrimmage against the run game. Jace also showed that he has impressive lateral agility to quickly get past IOL and get after the QB. His short area burst gives him a head start out of his stance and allows him to close on the QB quickly. The ’24 does a great job of playing with his hands too. He is able to keep separation and that lets him disengage quicker and find the ball. Miller is a well rounded DL prospect, and should put on a great show in his senior season.

Our final member of the Top 10 Uncommitted Seniors is the OT out of Port Washington. The senior is another prospect with elite size at 6’6″ 300 lbs, and he is a an mover in the trenches. Casey has the cinder block hands you look for in offensive linemen. Hands that send defenders flying just from the initial punch, and hands that are able to easily control his opponents when he clamps onto them. The huge prospect is also blessed with the range to be able to get up to LBs at level two or be a lead blocker in the screen game. He doesn’t lose power when on the run in space either. Casey is a big, strong, athletic OT that will continue to grab the attention of the next level. Check out his film below.
