Watching him on a snap to snap basis was great to experience. I was able to see how consistent his technique was. He used his length to make first contact, showed heavy hands and used his wide base to plow DL off the line in the run game. Hawker also is a good athlete. He was able to get to the second level to block LBs whenever assigned to do so. He also showed off the agility and balance to be able to change direction, or slide himself into position while engaged so that he was between the ball and the defender. It was a great night for the senior. No question, he is the top prospect among available OL.

The best available offensive player is the massive OT out of Monona Grove. Sam Hawker Sam Hawker 6'9" | 295 lbs | OL Monona Grove | 2024 State WI checks in at 6’9″ 295 lbs. It is a clean 295 lbs also. Despite all that size, Sam still has maintained an athletic lower body that gives him range to play at the second level or out in space. He also has the elite strength you would expect from a kid that size, and ranked this high. Hawker is able to reset the line of scrimmage 5 yards downfield in the run game. He has solid flexibility in his lower legs that allows him to add some leverage to his run blocking. The massive man is also a natural pass protector. That athletic lower body allows him to get depth in his pass set, and his long arms let him make first contact and also makes him an even bigger opponent for edge rushers to get around. Sam possesses the elite, prototypical OT frame at 6’9″ 285 lbs. Hawker carries that weight extremely well too, still maintaining an athletic build. With that natural size comes high-end college strength. Hawker easily overpowers DL in the run game with his leg drive and heavy hands. Sam possesses very good flexibility in his knees and ankles allowing him to still play low, and change directions without getting off balance. Sam also brings light feet and the reactive athleticism to be able to mirror edge rushers in pass protection. He is one of the best OTs available in WI.
