Carson is really starting to hit his stride for Monona Grove. The 6’1″ 195 lbs went off vs Sun Prairie East in a big Week 6 win. The way he can carry the ball at his impressive size is hard to find. That first carry on his highlights we see him cut right and leave a defender flying past him tackling air before cutting up field for the score. The range on his lateral cuts jump off the tape every time he hits one. Once he finds the open field the junior RB shows off the speed that has caught our eyes going back to summer camps. Every carry seemed to show his athleticism, elusiveness, and explosive lower body. Carson is getting better and better. The 2028 RB has a very high ceiling.
Carson was one of the more impressive athletes I was able to see this offseason. The 6’1″ 200 lbs athlete plays primarily RB for Monona Grove and is going to bring a dominant array of traits and tools to the field this fall. He has a 9’9″ broad jump, 36.8″ vertical jump, .94 flying 10, and a 4.69 40 yard dash. All loaded onto that strong frame that is built to carrying the rock between the tackles. This camp season Carson also proved that he can make an impact as a receiving threat and as a pass protector. Carson has a well rounded game that I am excited to see on the field this fall. This is definitely an athlete I can easily see putting together a breakout junior season.
Carson was an athlete who we knew of, but as you see he was on our Watch List as we waited for some tape to break down. We didn’t have to wait until the season, though. Instead, Carson has been active this spring and summer. We were able to get multiple looks at the impressive RB out of Monona Grove. We have seen the 6’1″ 200+ lbs 2028 run a 4.69 40, 4.34 shuttle, and broad jump 9’8″. During his camp tour Carson has shown that he can be a legitimate three down back with the ability to not only tote the rock, but catch out of the backfield, and step up and pick up blitzing LBs. I’m predicting a breakout season for the Monona Grove RB as he finds his role in what should be a productive offense.
