2028 Rankings Update: Watch List to Rankings

*Make sure to use code Johnson30 at checkout of a Prep Redzone subscription to save 30%*   The Class of 2028 Rankings Update allowed us to get our eyes on some fresh film and/or live viewing of athletes who were originally on the Watch List. Either way it was enough to determine that they needed to be moved up to the rankings to see where they stack among their peers. During this update we saw over 20 athletes make the leap from Watch List to Rankings. Continue reading to dive into what we saw from the 10 best of the bunch including multiple impressive trench monsters and a freaky athlete at WR just to hint at a few of the movers. Let's dive in!    This kid is in line to have a monster season for Mosinee. Braeden has so many special gifts, earning him the #1 edge spot in our rankings update. I've been lucky enough to see him in person and he is every bit of 6'4" 235 lbs and it is emphasized by elite length. The '28 DE has a really effective first step at the snap and has the ability to create a ton of force off that burst. The strength within his hands shines on tape over and over as he swipes aside OL effortlessly and then is free to create chaos all over the backfield. I'm fired up to see the impact Braeden makes in his junior season. Coaches, this is a kid you will want to have on your radar.      Cole debuts as our WR2 in the Class of 2028. The 6'2" 175 lbs athlete is a freak on the field. He can flip the field in a single play with his 10.91 100M dash speed. Cole is the ultimate deep threat with that elite speed. He erases cushions from CBs and can get down the sideline before the safety can get over the top. It isn't just speed that separates him. Cole also has WR specific traits like he strong hands, and body control to make grabs along the sideline or adjust last second to be able to secure the catch. The '28 WR also does a fantastic job in traffic making the concentration catches. Cole is WR that puts your secondary into a lot of bad situations with his skills. I think Moomey shows that this rank isn't his ceiling this fall.   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-x wp-block-embed-x"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/colemoomey2028/status/2006842564385902671 </div></figure>     They don't make a lot of 6 '4" 250 lbs OL with 6'8" wingspans very often, but that is what we have coming out of Amery in the Class of 2028. Easton is an athlete we were able to watch a few times over the summer. The raw tools have been there, but it has really started to come together for him this offseason. He is a kid who moves fluidly and with good knee bend, but doesn't have to sacrifice power to be that athletic. Easton can get up to level two instantly to wall off LBs or he can drive a DL out of the trenches. Easton has a very high ceiling and could make a big leap from here depending on his junior season. Keep a close eye on the Amery 2028 OT.      Tyler is a two sport standout between football and basketball. The basketball background shines through in his play at WR constantly. He does a great job using his body to box out and wall off DBs when making catches and he does a great job of reading the ball in the air and adjusting to it. The '28 WR plays fearlessly too. He will go over the middle or make grabs where he knows he will get hit right away after the catch. The 6'3" 170 lbs WR is a tough runner after the catch and will break tackles. Tyler is looking like a reliable, go to option for Kaukauna this fall.      Carson was one of the more impressive athletes I was able to see this offseason. The 6'1" 200 lbs athlete plays primarily RB for Monona Grove and is going to bring a dominant array of traits and tools to the field this fall. He has a 9'9" broad jump, 36.8" vertical jump, .94 flying 10, and a 4.69 40 yard dash. All loaded onto that strong frame that is built to carrying the rock between the tackles. This camp season Carson also proved that he can make an impact as a receiving threat and as a pass protector. Carson has a well rounded game that I am excited to see on the field this fall. This is definitely an athlete I can easily see putting together a breakout junior season.     Grafton had a ton of seniors in their front seven that helped them win the D3 State Championship in 205. They will be looking for those next men up and [player_tooltip player_id='1659520' first='Cooper' last='Ehr'] looks like he could be one of the kids they turn to. The 6'1" 200 lbs ILB showed plenty of instincts in the middle of the formation. He is constantly around the football and has a special ability to work through traffic without being held up. Cooper is a violent tackler and is able to balance between physicality and athleticism depending on the down and distance. This is a kid who could have a breakout year and launch himself further up these rankings.      A small school standout in this Class is Parkview/Albany 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1990210' first='Elijah' last='Gunn'] who plays RB and S for the varsity. Elijah is a kid that stands out on the small school stage. He has next level size a 6'2" 180 lbs and his blend of physicality and speed separate him from the crowd. At the safety position you will see him easily flow with the play, close quickly downhill, and deliver some big hits on ball carriers. That range is also a big piece of their kickoff coverage unit. On offense his blend of smooth athleticism and physical running make him a very tough RB to contain. He can beat you through traffic with speed or rip through arm tackles. Don't sleep on the small school product.      Carson is a fun watch at a position we don't see much of any more. The 6'2" 210 lbs 2028 plays FB for Madison Memorial and he does it well. His sophomore highlights are loaded up with examples of his ability to deliver big blocks that sprung his RB loose for nice chunk plays. Carson has the power to drive defenders out of holes or pancake them at the point of contact with his big frame. Carson clearly understands leverage and body positioning as he does well getting his butt to the hole to all off his opponent. The 2028 FB sprung the Madison Memorial run game loose for some big plays in 2025. More to come this season.      Myles may only be 5'9" 155 lbs but he is absolutely electric with the ball in his hands. The offense does well to manufacture touches between targets and jet sweeps. Myles is able to accelerate so quickly, allowing him to hit seams at top speed and fly into the open before LBs can close up holes. Myles also has the long speed that can beat pursuit angles. The '28 playmaker is so elusive with the ball in his hands as well. he can make you miss in a phone booth and cut on a dime. Those quick twitch, agility traits have helped him become an effect DB on defense too. Don't overlook the explosive playmaker out of Racine.      We wrap up this article with the big man out of Milwaukee Lutheran. Jamontae checks in at 6'6" 270 lbs and uses that towering frame to bulldoze DL out of gaps in the run game. Looking back at 2025 we see some clips of him on the OL, using some decent power to move guys. This offseason we see updated clips of him. on the DL. The big fella did really well holding the Lin eo scrimmage and flashed the ability to get into the backfield to apply pressure and throw off timing on plays. If the big man can continue to add to build up his game we could see him transform into a special prospect.
