The 6’1″ 235 lbs DT started his season off as hot as you could want. I don’t have the official stats, and I don’t really care. That is because Baumgart was effecting the game in ways that wouldn’t show up on the stat sheet anyways. He was living in the offensive backfield on the majority of his snaps. Andrew did it every way too. He would bull rush with exceptional power, putting the OL 2-3 yards in the backfield. That threw off timing and blocking schemes resulting in no gains or broken plays. Baumgart also showed off a college level first step quickness and agility that allowed him to shoot through gaps before the OL were barely out of their stance. Baumgart is a nightmare matchup in the trenches, and one of the best uncommitted seniors in WI.

The 6’1″ 235 lbs DL out of West De Pere put together a great showing at the Minnesconsin Mega Camp. Andrew displayed his impressive blend of power and explosiveness from start to finish. He put up a 9’4″ broad jump, 31.9″ vertical, and ran an impressive 4.7 40 yard dash. The power in Andrew’s frame was very noticeable in person. Everything he did seemed to have extra force behind it and it stood out from the massive crowd of athletes. That strength in his lower body has led to his chaos causing play. He flies out of his stance at the snap, and is a nightmare for OL to get in front of. Baumgart is going to be a fun chess piece for a next level DC to implement.

Andrew is one of my favorite films to watch. The 6’2″ 235 lbs DT is undersized for the position, and that is about where the weaknesses end. Having a matchup nightmare at the point of attack is a massive advantage. Baumgart will give a team that advantage. He is fired out of a cannon when coming out of his stance. His hand use and pass rush moves are a great blend of quick and powerful. Andrew is able to control, and move OL with his power, and his lateral quickness always gives him the leverage advantage. Turn on the tape and just watch him split double teams or beat multiple one on one blocks in a single play while on the way to a sack. Baumgart has an elite motor to go with his excellent traits. He is a need to know name in the Class of 2024.

#184 Up to #81rnBaumgart is fun to watch play football. The 6’2″ 235 lbs DT is undersized on the interior, but his production and traits can’t be denied. The quickness and burst off the line that Andrew plays with is special. He flies off the line, can move laterally just as quickly, and has the hand speed to match. Despite recently switching to DL, Andrew has developed a solid collection of pass rush moves. He has found success with his swim, rip, and a push pull. Baumgart is an explosive athlete with range not usually seen from the DL. The junior DL also has some power to run through block attempts. A big year is coming for the DL, and I think he is going to be a steal for the next level.

Baumgart showed off his polished pass rushing techniques – first using a rip move to beat his blocker. Then, a well-timed swim move allowed him into the backfield again.

Stats: 7 Tackles, 2 TFLsrnThe 6’2″ 235 lbs junior spent all of his time on the DL this fall, and it has me excited for his future. Andrew spent time at RB before this season, and having the athletic profile for that position lining up at DT led to Baumgart winning a lot of snaps. Simply put, the junior was far too quick for interior OL to get their hands on him. Baumgart has excellent explosive quickness. The instant he saw first movement the dude was shot out o fa cannon through his gap. Andrew was one of the most consistently disruptive defenders I saw live. He was in the backfield or right at the line of scrimmage all afternoon. I’m excited to see what he looks like next fall after an offseason of growth and development. A need to know name.

. The 6’2″ 220 lbs DL wins with burst and body control. Andrew has some strong moves. He is able to turn and get skinny to slip between blocks. There were a couple plays they didn’t block him for some reason, and he showed of that closing speed to end plays before they started. His athleticism is his top trait. The pass rush moves need work, but he is at a good point for his level of experience. Despite the lack of moves, Andrew does a solid job of disengaging blocks. Definitely check this kid out. Potential to be tapped into.
