Battle at the Beach Preview (Part 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>20 of some of the best programs in Southern California and a program in Washington will gather at Edison High School Saturday for one of the most prestigious passing tournaments of the summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mission Viejo won the event last season by beating St. John Bosco in the championship game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here is a look at the teams in Pool A and Pool B of the Battle at the Beach tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>POOL A</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>ST. JOHN BOSCO</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>St. John Bosco is one of the top teams in the nation, particularly at the skill positions. [player_tooltip player_id='115455' first='Caleb' last='Sanchez'] will get the majority of the reps at quarterback and is the likely starter for the Braves. [player_tooltip player_id='209113' first='Madden' last='Williams'] is a young receiver I am really high on and expect [player_tooltip player_id='115470' first='Tommy' last='Maher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='283605' first='Daniel' last='Odom'] to get plenty of targets. The Braves also added Chaparral transfer [player_tooltip player_id='398478' first='Stacy' last='Dobbins'] at receiver. [player_tooltip player_id='115443' first='Kyngstonn' last='Viliamu-Asa'] is the best linebacker in the state and the Braves have a loaded secondary behind him. [player_tooltip player_id='115433' first='Peyton' last='Woodyard'], [player_tooltip player_id='115452' first='Jason' last='Mitchell'], [player_tooltip player_id='115432' first='Marcelles' last='Williams'] and [player_tooltip player_id='398450' first='Frankie' last='Edwards III'] are outstanding defensive backs and [player_tooltip player_id='115469' first='Jordan' last='Lockhart'] can move all over the field and play anywhere. [player_tooltip player_id='273572' first='Khmori' last='House'] is another elite linebacker for the Braves so teams should avoid throwing underneath routes against the Braves. [player_tooltip player_id='683641' first='Mason' last='York'] will likely be the top target at receiver for the Chargers. <strong>Carson Daniels</strong> and junior <strong>Jake Minter</strong> are other receivers that are reportedly in the mix for Edison.
