In this breakdown, we're putting a spotlight on the top five prospects that are new to the 2024 prospect rankings. For some of these prospects, they should have been included for a while now. For others, they immediately got on our radar after seeing them this spring. Either way, there is a great collection of talent and overall athleticism here. There were quite a few newcomers to the 2024 rankings but these five are the very best.

That's the case with Westmoore's [player_tooltip player_id='640582' first='Mykel' last='Patterson-McDonald'] and he immediately checks in as a top ten overall prospect. First off, the Westmoore standout is one of the top track athletes in the class as well. He was dominant this past spring and brings a level of athleticism to the defensive secondary that we don't see very often. And Patterson-McDonald has seen his recruitment skyrocket this offseason with power five programs coming after the Westmoore safety. After watching Westmoore in person during a team camp, we saw that athleticism and overall playmaking ability first hand and he belongs near the top of the class.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["633074"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Sapulpa wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='633074' first='Kylen' last='Edwards'] is a prospect on our short list for becoming an absolute star for his team this season. Last year, Edwards put up some legitimate numbers at the receiver position but we think he takes it to another level this fall. The Sapulpa product is going to be the top receiver in a Chieftain offense that is going to be balanced but has a quarterback that's also featured in the 2024 rankings. So that 1-2 punch is going to be one of the better QB-WR duos in Class 5A this season. Edwards is a long and athletic wide receiver that can make some plays that just make you shake your head. He stood out at one of the team camps we watched earlier this year and he wasn't just standing out to us. He stood out to a few different college staffs. It feels like only a matter of time before his recruitment explodes.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["846607"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Central standout [player_tooltip player_id='846607' first='Ayden' last='Guess'] was one of several players that we watched in person this spring during our team camp tour and it didn't take long to decide that they needed to be in the next ranking update. Guess is a really good looking athlete and while we primarily watched him on the offensive side of the ball in person, while he was working at tight end, Guess has the ability to be an absolute game-wrecker on the defensive side as a defensive end. Guess is one of two TPS products on this breakdown that we think might be flying under the radar right now but that should change very soon. He looks the part physically, he absolutely flies around the football field and he could end up being one of the better pass-rushing athletes in the state's 2024 class. And the DL group in this class is incredibly special.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["633072"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Just like with McDonald-Patterson, Edison wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='633072' first='Corey' last='Rowland'] is a prospect that we found out about shortly after our January update and immediately shook our head. Rowland was one of the first athletes we featured in our u0022Friday Film Reviewu0022 series and his film was one of the top films we watched from a wide receiver. Rowland is going to also line up at defensive back for the Eagles and he could very well be a DB at the next level. But based on watching his film and then seeing him in various 7v7 settings during the offseason, it's hard not imagining Rowland as a game-changing wide receiver. Colleges are starting to take notice as well as he received several offers earlier this year and that's probably just the tip of the iceberg. Rowland has size, speed, hands and very special vision when the ball is in his hands.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["840301"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Choctaw linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='840301' first='Tae' last='Bulock'] is going to be a very interesting prospect to follow this season with the Yellowjackets. And we find his season interesting for a few reasons. First off, Bulock is going through a couple transitions as he moved to Choctaw this offseason and he's playing more of a linebacker role as opposed to working in the secondary beforehand. And we think that transition in terms of the positional movement is going to really work out for him. Choctaw was one of the first teams that we watched in person this offseason and Bulock was one of their stars during that evening at team camp. Combining him with a few other elite pass rushers and we think that Choctaw's defense is not going to miss a beat this season. While the offense has some key pieces to replace, the defense could be pretty special.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6499ececd17c7"} /-->
