Continue ReadingOn Sunday, May 7th, the Pennsylvania Prep Redzone Next Rising Prospect Camp took part at the Spooky Nook complex in Manheim. While the overall number of prospects in attendance was a little light, the talent on display certainly was not. There were over 10 athletes on the 2027 Prep Redzone Next National Watchlist in attendance. There were also more than a few new names and faces that impressed. The prospects got a ton of reps on both sides of the ball and put in a ton of work.
In addition to the MVPs at each position, which we highlighted in this article, here is a look at the Wide Receiver’s, Defensive Back’s and Tight End’s that opened some eyes.
Sherman shined on both sides of the ball at the Pennsylvania PRZ Next Rising Prospect Camp as a wide receiver and a defensive back. Sherman measured in at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds at the camp and showed why he’s the reigning Capital Football Association (CFA) Offensive Player of the Year. Good ball skills. Would like to see more consistency and attention to detail, but he’s a 2027 National Watchlist kid for sure.
Otway showed up to camp as an unknown to me, but walked away with a spot in the best vs. best competition at the end of camp and was in the running for MVP at both wide receiver and defensive back. Otway looked the part at 5-foot-10 and 145 pounds and was hand-timed at an impressive 4.47 (twice) in the shuttle. He earned his way onto the 2027 PRZ Next National Watchlist with his performance.

Wallace made the trip the short trip up north from Maryland and really started to find his grove about half way through individual drills. During testing and the beginning part of individual drills he didn’t stand out much, but he came alive as 1-on-1 drills started to unfold. Took reps against some of the better wide receivers in Pennsylvania and was included in the best vs. best reps. He’ll be at Calvert Hall in the spring.

Devin Burger
Devin Burger
Wide Receiver Devin Burger was a late addition to the camp but came out and did his thing at camp. Not the biggest or fastest wide out at camp, but was arguably the most consistent. Loved the effort he gave all camp long, specifically during individual drills. While some went through the motions duing indy, Burger made the most of every rep. He’ll be at St. Joe’s Prep in Philadelphia in the fall.
Another wide out that impressed throughout the camp was Evan Lee Evan Lee 5’6″ | 140 lbs | WR Norwin | 2027 PA . Lee, who is about 30 minutes from Pittsburgh (Western PA) made the three-hour trip southeast and made the most of his time to get in front of coaches and Prep Redzone Next scouts. Kid was coachable, respectful and worked his tail off all three hours of camp. On the smaller side right now 5-foot-6 and 130 pounds, but has excellent quickness and a great build. Could be a phenomenal slot receiver in a quick, dink and dunk offense.
Hatton is a 2027 prospect I was very excited to see play in person for the first time. The big tight end/defensive end from western Pennsylvania measured in at 6-foot-3 and was up to 215 pounds from the 205 I last had him weighing in at. He was one of the several tight ends that had a great showing, proving to be way too big and physical for smaller corners to try and lock down. This won’t be the last time you hear about Hatton, stemming from the camp.

Some south Florida swag was in the house at the Pennsylvania Prep Redzone Next Rising Prospect camp, with Palm Beach Garden’s Ryder Zuniga showing out. The 5-foot-5, 120-pound Zuniga moved well during drills and showed the ability to track down balls that were seemingly out of reach. Tracked the ball well and made some impressive grabs. Just a 2028 prospect (current seventh-grader) he needs to grow some, but that will come.

Maddox Pivarnik
Maddox Pivarnik
Pivarnik initially caught my eye during the testing phase because of his lean muscular build and obvious above average speed. He was eventually clocked at a 4.81 in the forty and busted out a 9’1″ in the broad jump, showing off the lower body strength. He ran well during one-on-one’s and showed off decent in-game speed. Needs to get more physical with the ball is in the air and would like to see more assertiveness in his game, but there’s something here.
