The Prep Redzone Prospect Tour came through Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon and top talent from the state came out and showed out throughout the three hours in Oklahoma. It started with combine testing and then went into individual drills, followed by 1 on 1 competitions to wrap up the camp. And throughout the week, we’ll be putting a spotlight on some of the top performers at each position from Sunday’s camp. Our content begins now with the MVP selections from each position. It was hard to pin point just one player for some of these awards but these guys were the best of the best from start to finish.
Locust Grove quarterback Titan Hix Titan Hix 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB Locust Grove | 2026 State OK is the first of two freshmen that shined enough throughout the camp to earn MVP honors. Hix was one of the names we had circled coming into the camp after a phenomenal freshman season last fall. Not only did he pass the eye test but he performed incredibly well from start to finish. While talking with a college coach about Hix just being a freshman during the 1 on 1 portion, he uncorked a 40-yard bomb into the wind and placed it right into his receiver’s hands. Hix has an absolute rocket launcher attached to his shoulder. We watched his film of his freshman season and the arm strength he has already is incredibly eye opening. And then you look at him throwing in person and everything we saw on film translates to the film. The quarterback position had quite a few standouts throughout the camp but the consensus throughout the afternoon kept coming back to the freshman. His high school career is already off to a great start and the future is incredibly bright moving forward.

Way out in western Oklahoma, near the panhandle, is one of the best running backs in the state. Laverne 2025 standout Felix Teal Felix Teal 5’9″ | 180 lbs | RB Laverne | 2025 State OK has led his team to back to back state championships, including a statistical explosion last season as a sophomore. Teal is without a doubt the best 8-man standout in the state today and he put all of his skills on full display throughout the camp. Teal ran a 4.50 40-yard dash and then was incredibly impressive throughout the individual drills and 1 on 1 competitions. Teal was outstanding throughout the drills and then what’s impressive is he put his speed and strength on display. He has absolute burners as he displayed in the 40-yard dash and running pass routes. But then there we watched the running backs go into pass protection against linebackers and Teal once again shined during that portion of the camp. Similar to Hix at the quarterback position, Teal was easily a name that we had circled coming into Sunday and not only did he live up to expectations he did it with a smile on his face at all times.

Bixby 2024 wide receiver Garrett Vaughn Garrett Vaughn 5’8″ | 165 lbs | WR Bixby | 2024 State OK edged out a few other wide receivers for MVP honors behind a complete performance from start to finish. Vaughn ran the two fastest shuttle times of the camp with a 4.03 shuttle, followed by a 4.06. Vaughn was zooming on Sunday and that didn’t stop as we went into the positional drills as well as 1 on 1 competition. Vaughn was also one of the wide receivers called out at the end of the camp for the “best on best” competition and he made a great move to get open and bring in the ball. Another thing that really stood out to us while watching was Vaughn’s desire for competition and reps. He certainly got his moneys worth as he also turned around and played some defensive back during the 1 on 1 competitions. That’s something that is always going to stand out to us at these camps. The guys who just want to compete and get as many reps as they can, so they play multiple positions. That, and his overall performance, was a big reason why Vaughn was the MVP on Sunday.
Sand Springs offensive lineman Ryley Kester Ryley Kester 6’4″ | 265 lbs | OL Charles Page | 2026 State OK was the other freshman that earned his way to an MVP award with his performance throughout the camp. We mentioned this yesterday as we announced the award but Kester was flat out mean throughout the afternoon as he bullied lineman after lineman in the 1 on 1 competition. Kester was one of the top prospects coming into the camp and it was very clear why when he got into competition mode. Kester was one of the top freshmen in the state last season as he made an instant impact for Sand Springs. Watching him go to work time after time and end with the same result was very impressive to watch. And the offensive line group was incredibly deep on Sunday. In addition to that, we had a really good group on the defensive line so those battles in the trenches got very intense, very quickly. And Kester continued to dominate throughout the competition. There’s a reason why Kester already has the attention of power five programs across the country and is a top five overall prospect in the state’s 2026 class. He showed why time after time throughout the day in Broken Arrow.

It’s hard not to be impressed with Norman 2025 linebacker Behrett Boyd Behrett Boyd 5’10” | 195 lbs | LB Norman | 2025 State OK following his second straight MVP award for the linebacker position. He was the top linebacker at our camp back in January and he took the top spot once again on Sunday. The linebacker position was deep on Sunday and the competition for the top spot was incredibly tough. But at the end of the day, the Norman standout was once again the best of the best when you’re talking about the linebacker position. Boyd tested very well once again and then was outstanding in the competition portion of the camp. Coming into our camp back in January, we didn’t know hardly anything about Boyd and he opened plenty of eyes at our camp in January and we’ve been fans of his game ever since. Boyd is a good looking linebacker and he has the potential with two more high school seasons to continue to grow and really become one of the top guys at his position in the 2025 class. We look for Boyd to have a pretty strong junior season this fall.
Piedmont 2025 defensive back Ethan Shelton Ethan Shelton 5’9″ | 175 lbs | DB Piedmont | 2025 State OK immediately turned heads on Sunday during the combine testing portion. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash time of the camp with a blistering 4.41 time. Then Shelton continued to impress throughout the rest of the camp as players transitioned into individual drills and 1 on 1 competition. Any time we do these showcase camps, the numbers are always tilted towards the offensive side of the ball with wide receivers outnumbering defensive backs by an absurd amount. And that always means that the defensive backs are thrown into the fire during the 1 on 1 portion where they end up having rep after rep against the wide receivers. Out of all the MVP selections from this camp, Shelton was the name that we didn’t know much about heading into the camp. And that’s one of the things we like the most about our showcase events. Not only do we see some of the best prospects in Oklahoma, but we see new names that not only get on our radar but open plenty of other eyes.
