2024 Rankings Update: Quarterback

Now that these rankings are published, I will be taking an in-depth look at each position for the class of 2024. With that being said, I will kick things off by focusing on the top quarterbacks in the state of Kentucky in the class of 2024.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["313643"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='313643' first='Cole' last='Hodge'] came into this season as our top ranked quarterback in the class of 2024 and continued to show that he deserved that ranking. Hodge led CAL to a 3A State Championship this past season, completing 169/232 passes for 2,949 yards, 48 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. He is an extremely accurate quarterback, showing the ability to go through his progressions and place the ball where only his receiver has a chance to catch it. Hodge also has a strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. He also has the ability to tuck the ball and make plays on the ground when needed, finishing the season with 76 carries for 711 yards and nine touchdowns. Cole currently holds offers from Army, Miami (OH), East Carolina, Liberty, Marshall, Appalachian State, UAB, Central Michigan, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year as he is a Division 1 caliber quarterback.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["313674"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Next up on this list is another State Championship winning quarterback, Boyle County's [player_tooltip player_id='313674' first='Sage' last='Dawson']. He led the Rebels to another 4A State Championship this season, completing 132/202 passes for 1,704 yards,24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Dawson has a very strong arm as he has shown the ability to leas his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. He also uses that arm strength to zip passes into tight windows. Dawson also has good ball placement, putting passes where only his receivers can catch them. He is also very dangerous as a ball carrier as he ran the ball 96 times for 623 yards and five touchdowns. Dawson also caught one touchdown this season and played some snaps at defensive back. He led the Defenders on a deep playoff run this past season, completing 124/217 passes for 1,982 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Cutwright has very impressive arm talent. His arm strength allows him to push the ball down the field but his ability to make tough throws is what impresses me the most. When under pressure, Cutwright has shown the ability to escape the pocket and make very impressive throws down the field while on the run. He is also a dangerous playmaker in the open field when he decides to tuck the ball and take off as a ball carrier. Cutwright has the speed and elusiveness in the open field to break off long runs at any given moment. He finished the season with 82 carries for 598 yards and eight touchdowns. While Cutwright doesn't currently hold any offers, I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to be a productive quarterback at the next level.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["483869"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='483869' first='Jackson' last='Wasik'] is a quarterback that I admittedly didn't know much about coming into this past season but he jumped onto my radar very quickly. He had a very impressive junior year, completing 184/262 passes for 2,954 yards, 41 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has a very strong arm with the ability to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride in the deep passing game. Wasik is also very accurate, placing the ball where only he intended receiver can get it. He also has shown the ability to keep his eyes down the field when escaping the pocket to make throws on the run. Jackson has also proven that he can make plays as a ball carrier, running the ball 65 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns this season. Wasik currently holds an offer from Calumet College but I expect more to come his way going into his senior year as he has the talent to be a productive quarterback at the next level.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["417271"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Wrapping up our top five quarterbacks in the class of 2024 is Shelby Valley's [player_tooltip player_id='417271' first='Russ' last='Osborne']. Osborne was on my radar coming into this season but exceeded all expectations that I had for him. He had a tremendous junior year, completing 156/220 passes for 2,787 yards, 27 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Osborne has great pocket mobility, showing the ability to feel the pressure and move around to avoid it while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws. He also has impressive arm strength which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game and zip passes into tight windows in the short/intermediate passing game. Osborne is also very dangerous as a ball carrier, finishing the season with 90 carries for 649 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also played safety on defense, finishing with four interceptions but I liked what I saw from him the most at quarterback.
