He also has impressive arm strength which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game and zip passes into tight windows in the short/intermediate passing game. Osborne is also very dangerous as a ball carrier, finishing the season with 90 carries for 649 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also played safety on defense, finishing with four interceptions but I liked what I saw from him the most at quarterback. Russ doesn’t hold any offers yet but I expect some to come his way going into his senior year as he definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

Osborne has everything that you could want in a quarterback with accuracy, a very strong arm, mobility, and touch. He is able to throw a very impressive deep ball to lead his receivers down the field. When things break down, Russ does a great job of escaping pressure and keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. When he is unable to find someone to throw to, he is able to tuck the ball and use his speed and elusiveness to make big plays on the ground. Russ is already off to a hot start in 2022 and I expect some college interest to come for him soon.

Osborne completed 13/18 passes for 260 yards and four touchdowns while running the ball three times for 48 yards and a touchdown. While this is a solid stat line for a complete game, Osborne did all of this in one half as he was pulled due to a blowout against Pike County Central. While he was in the game, Russ continued to show an impressive quick release along with a strong arm and great touch on his passes. As a ball carrier, he continued to be dangerous in the read option, using his speed to run away from the defense once he hit the second level. Russ still doesn’t have any offers but coaches should be lining up to watch him play as he is a very special talent.

Osborne finished the game completing 31/46 passes for 547 yards and four touchdowns. The 547 yards is the 12th most single-game passing yards in state history. Osborne truly impressed me the most with his ability to stand in the pocket make throws under pressure and also keep his eyes down the field to make throws on the run when needed. He also showed impressive mobility, scoring two rushing touchdowns. Osborne also made an impact on defense, finishing with eight tackles. If he continues to play anywhere close to this level throughout the season, college coaches will definitely take notice.
