Week 10 gave us several exciting games with some impressive individual performances. While it was hard to pick from all of the strong performances from this past weekend, here are my top offensive performances in the state of Kentucky from Week 10.
Brody Benke Brody Benke 6’4″ | 235 lbs | ATH Highlands | 2024 State KY is a player that has had an outstanding 2023 season so far and continued to impress this past week. Benke did a little bit of everything on offense in Highlands’ dominant win over Scott. As a passer, Benke completed 3/5 passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Benke also made an impact as a ball carrier, showing impressive speed and strength as a runner. He finished the game with three carries for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Brody continued to find the end zone as a pass catcher, finishing the game with two receptions for 61 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a successful two-point conversion attempt. Benke currently holds offers from Judson, Georgia Military School, Pikeville, and Mount Union, and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play multiple positions at the next level.
Highlights
Cortez Stone Cortez Stone 5’10” | 170 lbs | RB Louisville Central | 2025 State KY is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this past week. Stone played a huge role in Central’s win over LaRue County, running the ball 19 times for 213 yards and five touchdowns. He showed impressive elusiveness in the open field, showing the ability to make cuts on the dime to make defenders miss. Stone also showed the speed to run away from the defense once he hit the second level. Cortez currently holds offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Purdue, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Louisville, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Division I caliber running back prospect.
Dwaylon Dean Dwaylon Dean RB West Carter | 2025 State KY
Dwaylon Dean Dwaylon Dean RB West Carter | 2025 State KY
Another running back that stood out to me this past week is Dwaylon Dean Dwaylon Dean RB West Carter | 2025 State KY from West Carter. He played a key role in his team’s win over Lewis County, running the ball 19 times for 295 yards and two touchdowns. Dean has impressive vision, showing the ability to find the running lane and hit it in a hurry. Once he hits the open field, Dean has shown that he has the speed to run away from the defense to break away for long runs. He also played a role on defense, finishing the game with six tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack. Dwaylon doesn’t currently hold any offers but he should be a player to keep an eye on over the next couple seasons.
Jack James Jack James 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Paducah Tilghman | 2025 State KY has been among the most impressive quarterbacks in the entire state this season and continued to showcase his talent this past week. He led his team to a dominant win over Calloway County, completing 23/30 passes for 421 yards and seven touchdowns. James showed impressive accuracy, showing the ability to hit his receivers out of their breaks and place the ball where only his intended receiver could catch it. He also showed the ability to escape the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. James currently holds offers from Old Dominion, Eastern Kentucky, Troy, and Miami (OH), and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Division I caliber quarterback prospect.
Tyson Sammons Tyson Sammons 6’0″ | 195 lbs | QB Greenup County | 2025 State KY is another quarterback that has had an impressive 2023 season. He continued to impress in Greenup County’s win over Rowan County this past week, completing 14/18 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons has a quick release as a passer which he uses to hit his receivers in stride out of their breaks in the short/intermediate passing game. Tyson also proved once again to be a major threat as a ball carrier, finishing the game with 12 carries for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player college coaches should be paying close attention to over the next couple seasons.
Russ Osborne Russ Osborne 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Shelby Valley | 2024 State KY is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this past week. The senior quarterback led Shelby Valley to a win over East Ridge, completing 17/21 passes for 350 yards and six touchdowns. Osborne showed off his strong arm which he used to stretch the field and hit his receivers in stride in the deep passing game. He also showed the ability to escape pressure while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. Osborne also showed the ability to make plays with his legs when needed, finishing the game with eight carries for 43 yards. Russ currently holds an offer from Pikeville and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level.
Brady Bentley Brady Bentley 5’7″ | 165 lbs | WR Shelby Valley | 2024 State KY was Osborne’s go-to target during his impressive performance this past week. He finished the game with nine receptions for 230 yards and five touchdowns. Bentley is dangerous deep threat, showing the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation. He has also shown the ability to use his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes into big gains. Bentley also scored on a successful two-point conversion attempt. Brady doesn’t currently hold any offers but deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Solomon Stonebraker Solomon Stonebraker 5’9″ | WR Adair County | 2025 State KY is another wide receiver that stood out to me this past week. He played a key role in Adair County’s win over McCreary Central, catching five passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns. Stonebraker lines up on the outside where he has shown the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation in the deep passing game. He is also dangerous after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes and screens into big gains. Stonebraker doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way eventually as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Cole Hodge Cole Hodge 6’2″ | QB Christian Academy Of Louisville | 2024 State KY has continued to prove this season that he is one of the top players in the entire state. He had another impressive game in CAL’s win over Elizabethtown this past week, completing 19/29 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns. Cole is committed to East Carolina where I can see him developing into a successful quarterback at the next level.
