Claiming the number three spot on my list is Tyson Sammons Tyson Sammons 6'0" | 195 lbs | ATH Green County | 2025 State KY , a quarterback at Greenup County High School. Sammons makes a considerable difference under center due to his durability in the pocket, strong footwork and the ability to run the ball himself. I also like how Sammons can quickly turn the corner and juke out the defense from along the edge.

He led Greenup County to a win over Fleming County, completing 7/14 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons has a nice quick release which he uses to hit receivers in stride out of their breaks where only they can catch it. He also showed the ability to use his speed and athleticism to pose as a huge threat in the running game, finishing the game with 17 carries for 160 yards and three touchdowns. Tyson doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way eventually as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

He continued to impress in Greenup County’s win over Rowan County this past week, completing 14/18 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons has a quick release as a passer which he uses to hit his receivers in stride out of their breaks in the short/intermediate passing game. Tyson also proved once again to be a major threat as a ball carrier, finishing the game with 12 carries for 140 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player college coaches should be paying close attention to over the next couple seasons.

As a passer, Sammons has completed 50/104 passes for 880 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions through six games. While he has been solid as a passer, Sammons has made his biggest impact in the run game. He has tremendous speed and athleticism which he is able to use to break away for long runs at any given moment. Sammons is currently near the top of the 5A rushing leaderboard with 113 carries for 894 yards and 14 touchdowns. Tyson doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play at the next level.

Sammons led Greenup County to a victory over East Carter this past week, completing 12/15 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns. As a passer, he has an impressive quick release and has solid accuracy, showing the ability to hit his receivers out of their breaks. He also displayed his true dual-threat ability this past week, running the ball 13 times for 187 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons doesn’t currently hold any offers but should be a player to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.

Likely no quarterback in the state has generated offensive production on a high scale more quietly and unassumingly than Sammons has thus far this season. After producing over 3,000 yards of total offense as a sophomore starter last year, he seems poised to exceed even those numbers before season’s end after the Musketeers’ 46-36 win over East Carter. In addition to completing 12 of 15 pass attempts for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns he also rushed 13 times for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns. For those keeping score at home, that equates to 437 yards of total offense and 7 touchdowns for the night. Currently averaging just over 312 yards of total offense and 16 points per game, his varied skill set, elusiveness and physicality make him an especially confounding dual-threat performer.

Sammons completed 9/26 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown but it was his production as a ball carrier that impressed the most. Tyson led the Musketeers in rushing, finishing the game with 30 carries for 222 yards and three touchdowns. Sammons doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player for college coaches to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.
