The latest 2025 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 100 for the state’s 2025 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2025 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on the top five defensive linemen in the state’s current sophomore class. This group features strong defensive tackles and athletic guys coming off the edge. Some play on both sides of the ball
There’s no doubt that when it comes to the 2025 class, one of the breakout stars from the 2022 football season was Carl Albert defensive lineman Caden Davis Caden Davis 6’0″ | LB Carl Albert | 2025 State OK . As the Titans went on to capture another state championship, Davis was critical in their title run. He ended up being one of the state’s leaders in quarterback sacks as he lived in opposing backfields all season. With his performance last season, Davis ended up earning All State 1st Team honors earlier this month. We were told about Davis back in the summer and he did not disappoint throughout the fall. As a prospect, it’s going to be interesting to see how high Davis can climb within this class. You can’t argue with the production and Carl Albert has some stars in the 2025 class so Carl Albert, as usual, will be a must stop for college coaches.
Jenks defensive lineman Cash Jacobsen Cash Jacobsen 6’5″ | 250 lbs | DL Jenks | 2025 State OK remains one of the higher rated defensive linemen in the state’s 2025 class but we’re excited about the 2023 season for him. The Jenks big man had his 2022 cut short to injury. The Trojans dealt with a big injury problem throughout their roster and Jacobsen was one of those casualties. But as he gets back to 100 percent and gets on the field this fall, we have a feeling that he’ll be a breakout star. That’s what we would have predicted for him last fall prior to the injury problems. The Trojans routinely have some stout guys up front and next year will be no different with Jacobsen. The last consistent and meaningful football Jacobsen played was in the fall of 2021 so needless to say, he’s going to be itching to get back in the pads and onto the football field.

While Davis plays on the edge and Jacobsen could be either edge or tackle, there’s no doubt that Edmond Memorial defensive lineman Devin Gillespie Devin Gillespie 6’0″ | 285 lbs | DL Choctaw | 2025 State OK is a defensive tackle or nose guard in a 3-4 alignment. Gillespie is a space stuffer up the middle for Edmond Memorial and he’s going to end up being one of the more experienced prospects in this class after getting significant playing as a freshman and then being a consistent player in 2022. Gillespie is definitely a prospect to keep an eye on moving forward this spring and summer as more coaches get to check him out in person. We’ve been talking about this 2025 class for Edmond Memorial since they were all freshmen and for good reason. Gillespie is part of a group that can make Edmond Memorial a winning program once again.

At this time last week, Colcord sophomore Khaleeal Penn Khaleeal Penn 6’2″ | 305 lbs | DL Colcord | 2025 State OK was not on our radar for this ranking update. Then he came out on Saturday at our camp in Broken Arrow and walked away with MVP for the defensive line group. Then we went back and watched the film of the small school standout that helped lead Colcord to a big 2022 season. Not only is Penn on the radar now, he’s one of the better two-way linemen in the state’s 2025 class. But we have him specifically on the defensive side of the ball and for good reason. And it’s not just because he dominated at the camp on Saturday. Although that helped. Like Gillespie at Edmond Memorial, Penn is your prototypical defensive tackle that just clogs potential running lanes and makes running in between the tackles a big problem for opponents.
Highlights
We have Bishop McGuinness sophomore Zach Tawwater Zach Tawwater 6’5″ | 230 lbs | DL Bishop McGuinness | 2025 State OK listed as a defensive lineman on the latest ranking update but we could be talked into a little tight end or even offensive lineman down the road. Tawwater is a 2025 prospect that we like a lot because of the potential and versatility he brings to the field. Tawwater was a disruptive defensive lineman during his sophomore season with McGuinness but he also turned around and showed that he could play a little offense. If Tawwater continues to grow and get bigger, we could see him potentially turning into a very successful offensive tackle as well. There’s a lot of potential there and at the end of the day, that’s what these rankings are all about. We’re trying to project how they will look at the next level and Tawwater’s ceiling is incredibly high.
