Continue Reading6’4, 270-pound right guard that can easily absorb blitzes and powerful contact. Says something about his base. Would love to know more about Anthony Shovlin Anthony Shovlin 6’4″ | 270 lbs | OL Pittsburgh Central Catholic | 2024 State PA ‘s alignment versatility, as he has the frame and athleticism to be kicked out to tackle. Cleans up kids that can’t match his size. Shows a good understanding of assignments, multiple too, he can locate his next target after chipping with his neighboring tackle. I’m positive this kid can perform along the interior of the defensive line too. I see him winning a big chunk of his reps strictly off being persistent and blocking to the whistle. You can say early reps are often even, 2-3 seconds into the play you can bet Shovlin has overcome his matchup.
Would’ve loved to see a longer tape out of Marple Newtown’s Andrew Kirlin Andrew Kirlin 6’6″ | 290 lbs | OL Marple Newtown | 2024 State PA , yet his 3-minute tape gets to the point quickly. 6’6, 305 pounds, we are back to scouting massive juggernauts much like we were earlier in the week. A top 10-15 spot is attainable, yet Kirlin has a ways to go before reaching that FBS threshold. No doubt that a solid off-season could help Kirlin land those G5 looks from Toledo and Ohio, yet I’d like to see more violent finishes on tape. I’d like to see him punish his competition the way his ranking counterparts do. All that being said, Kirlin’s tape is still a great one. Right tackle with both run and pass protection reps. I have seen junior tape exactly like Kirlin’s many times before, usually turning out with kids who explode onto the scene after great camp/combine sessions.
We might have gotten carried away with ranking the 6’6 behemoths over everyone 6’4 and under. Lukas Donahue Lukas Donahue 6’3″ | 300 lbs | OL La Salle College | 2024 State PA might have fallen victim to that mistake, yet I foresee a future where this young man climbs back into the top 20 sooner rather than later. I loved his early 3-game tape, liked his full-junior tape even more. The opposite of the young man ranked above him. 6’3, 295, violent finisher that wants to put kids in the dirt and keep them there. I’ve seen him match up against elite talent and win more often than not. The former PRZ camp standout would place much higher if we are strictly ranking based on tape, we have to take into account what colleges might be looking for, especially at the FBS level. If I’m Temple or Akron, he’s certainly worth a look. I wonder where he stands amongst FCS programs that recruit Philadelphia.

What an incredible presence Ben Mercado Ben Mercado 6’2″ | 290 lbs | OL Emmaus | 2024 State PA is when stationed in the trenches each and every week. Quality IDL tape, yet I love his projection to the offensive side of the football. Tone-setter, angry linemen whose tape has to be one of the more amusing tapes to turn on. Again, much like Donahue, many have placed above Mercado strictly because of how they fit the FBS mold of 6’6, 300-pound monsters. Yet this guard out of Emmaus displays some of the best overall tape that I’ve plugged in. Throw offers, measurables, and hype out of the window and you’d have no problem going to war with this young man leading the way in the interior. Mercado will inevitably be the prospect that many top programs overlook. He’ll be the prospect that looks to be a steal for whoever courts him in the coming months.

No full junior tape out, yet I turned on many single-game tapes against elite Inter-Ac competition and came away very pleased with Charles English’s abilities, especially in pass-pro sets. Springy base/hips allow English Jr. to absorb initial contact and anchor into the turf as a counter. English has a ton of reps damn near everywhere on the field. It’s tough to get an idea of where he projects because his tape isn’t pieced together. English’s evaluation won’t be complete until then. That being said, he’s got good enough size and tape against top talent to warrant landing inside the top 130.

I can foresee a future where Imhotep’s Joshua Lee-White Joshua Lee-White 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA , the second offensive lineman ranked inside the top 30, becomes a top 10 linemen prospect. If you told me White was 6’4, 250 pounds, I actually might’ve believed you just looking at him on tape. This has to be one of the leaner 300+ linemen in this class. I had to piece together multiple single-game tapes to get a feel for his overall skillset, yet it was tough to do so, especially when compared to his ranked counterparts. That being said, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing White perform alongside Zafir Stewart Zafir Stewart 6’5″ | 330 lbs | OL Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA and Anthony Richardson Anthony Richardson 6’4″ | 250 lbs | OL Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA . I distinctly remember being on the sidelines next to multiple coaches searching Imhotep’s Hudl for this kid’s name. His name will be a frequent one amongst scouting/recruiting circles in time.
What’s special about Justin Kutcher Justin Kutcher 6’1″ | 265 lbs | OL Danville | 2024 State PA is his position versatility. Immediately, many will count this kid out of tackle consideration because he’s 6’1, 265. Turn on the tape and you might think otherwise. I do yield to the premise that Justin Kutcher Justin Kutcher 6’1″ | 265 lbs | OL Danville | 2024 State PA projects to the defensive side of the football, this might be well and true. His rank positional rank might even be higher had he been ranked a DL. Yet I can’t help but feel that Kutcher at 6’2, 280, could be utilized as an IOL at the FCS level. That might be his ceiling, yes, Kutcher still has to get to that height and weight threshold. We can’t forget that his tape checks out on both sides of the ball. He will be a lock for PSAC schools in the area, I’m hoping he can reach the Division One projection/status that we have given him.
